Alexander was born into poverty on the Caribbean island of Nevis, but he worked hard and became successful. His hard work was recognized, and he was sent off to the thirteen colonies to get an education by his employer and other businessmen because they saw that he had a future

Residents helped raise money to send Hamilton to America to study. In 1772, he arrived in New York to start his education

Hamilton served as General Washington’s right hand man during the revolution, and he became the secretary of the United States Treasury because Washington saw how brilliant he was during the course of the Revolutionary War

Hamilton led the battle of Yorktown in Yorktown, Virginia. This battle is now known as the most critical battle as it was the last major battle on land

He wrote fifty-one out of the eighty-five essays known as the Federalist Papers in an attempt to convince Americans to support and sign the new Constitution of the United States

Even though Alexander Hamilton didn’t have a massive part in writing the Constitution, the Federalist Papers which he wrote convinced people and states to be in support of the Constitution. His brilliance and dedication to making the country better is how he persuaded the state of New York to ratify the Constitution

George Washington, the first President of the United States, appointed him the first secretary of the United States Treasury

Through Hamilton’s three step plan to strengthen the economy after the war, which was paying off all war debts to foreign countries and the people who lent money within their country, imposing tariffs on incoming goods, and establishing a national bank to hold the government’s money, he was able to create balance in the as growing economy

In the 1800 election, Hamilton helped Thomas Jefferson win the presidency instead of Aaron Burr, who he had a long lasting rivalry with. He did this by getting the Federalists to vote for Jefferson instead of Burr

His eldest son, Philip Hamilton, died in a duel.George Eacker denounced Hamilton in a speech, so starting a grudge between Hamilton's son and Eacker. The Two ended up dueling after Philip and Eacker traded insults at a theater, with Philip being shot through the hip in the end

Alexander Hamilton was involved in adultery with Maria Reynolds. When discovered, he published the “Reynolds Pamphlet” to clear his name that he had done illegal money transactions during the time

Hamilton did what was right even when other people disliked his actions, an example of this is how he defended loyalists after people took shelter in their homes and wrecked their property

Hamilton’s Democratic look on the Constitution was considered incorrect by many people, and his Democratic decisions which he made enraged people who thought his opinion was wrong

Although Alexander died on July twelfth, 1804, his legacy and actions that made him who he was would be remembered centuries later

Hamilton established a legacy profound and informative, so a play called Hamilton highlighting his life and events during his time period was made

Link to image

Link to image

Link to image

Link to image

This is a link to a video that describes Alexander Hamilton’s life as well as describing his main achievements and what he is known for today.

(Ryder Wentzel, Sean Madden, Samuel Frack, Gian Legaspi, Jonah Arrow)
