I chose psychology because I have always been passionate about helping people, am known to be a very good listener and people tend to come to me for advise a lot and help solving conflicts because i am good at taking myself out of the situation and giving an objective perspective. This also helps a lot in personal conflict management. I am a very empathetic person and a HUUUGEEEE social butterfly so working with people was just a given, and working to help people is even better.

I chose Psychology in order to help people who struggle with mental health issues, as I myself have struggled with it, so I have first hand experience when it comes to the actual symptoms, therapy, psychopathy, medication, I feel having this experience can beneficial if the client/patient and I can relate to the problems.

I also want to mainly focus on Addictions and Substance abuse as I also have been in active addiction and have now been in recovery for quite a long time.

Addiction is very broad when it comes to Psychology as it embodies everything regarding the Human Psyche. It's very interesting, but also extremely sad at the same time, as many people, even sometimes unknowingly go down a destructive path and they do not know how to turn around, so to speak. So I would like to be able to help those people reclaim their lives and better themselves.

I chose to study psychology as it is very in line with my future goals.
My main goal in life is to one day become a Clinical Psychologist as the profession fasinates me. The reason why I want to become a Clinical Psychologist, is because my father died when I was young due to a mental illness that he had.
I believe that I can not only help people one day that also suffer from such illnesses but potentially educate people in future that do not understand them.

my name is Kashimee, or Kash.  i live in Durban, city of sun and sea (as we love to believe,lol).

my reason for choosing to study psych is that i have realized a potential within myself, to reach put to others and be able to make a positive difference, more often than not. 

i am quite instrumental with youth and i found that they needed a simple change in thinking to allow them to harness their potential, or even dare to dream outside of their circumstances...the more i saw this, the more i realized that, all human, myself included, we just needed to know that we can trust ourselves, and once we were told that trusting ourselves was ok...its opened our minds to endless thinking powers, and if one of every 10 individual realize their true potential...then we have one star shining its beam in a group, that will surely see the same in themselves.
so in a nutshell,,, i decided to study psych to make a Positive difference in myself, and those willing to do the same for themselves, and help those who cant see the positive, start to believe that they can overcome their circumstances.
