Activity 1- Write a letter to your favourite author. Try to make your letters really personal and
interesting. Tell them what you enjoy about their books and why.

Activity 2- Act out a scene from a book; recreate an entire scene to
get inside a story or create a freeze-frame and take a picture of a moment in time in your chosen story. For example make the food that the characters are eating, make your house look like theirs, film or photograph your scene.

Activity 3- Book Path. Carpet the floor wall to wall in books or make a line of books into a path that leads throughout the house. Take photographs of your book carpet.

Activity 4- Write a book review of your favourite book and have a go at redesigning the front cover of this book.

Your child has an Accelerated Reader login so when they have finished reading a book, they can search for a quiz about the book, to practise their comprehension skills. If they successfully pass the quiz, some books also have a vocabulary quiz, which will appear on the screen. The children are familiar with completing these in school.
