A healthy diet provides the body with essential nutrition: fluid, macronutrients.<br><br>What are the components of a balanced diet:&nbsp;<br>Carbohydrates<br>Protein<br>Fat<br>Fiber<br>Vitamins<br>Minerals<br>Water<br><br>Here is why each are important:&nbsp;<br><br>Carbohydrates: These are what is responsible for providing energy&nbsp;<br><br>Protein: Plays a role in building up the body, essential for growth (Muscles, Amino Acids, etc)<br><br>Fats: Can act as a extra energy source. They are important for providing warmth for the body<br><br>Fibers: Improves overall digestion&nbsp;<br><br>Vitamins and Minerals: Helps to keep&nbsp;the body working in proper condition<br><br>Water: Helps in the regulation of body temperature and also in maintaining the volume of blood in the body<br><br></div><div><br></div><div>A balanced diet would mean having all 7 of these in the right amounts regularly. In the sense that, how sustainable is it for you personally. Will you be able to sustain yourself. Are you getting the necessary nutrition out of the diet? Will you be able to stick to the diet for a long time?&nbsp;<br><br>Environmentally - Is the food that is being placed in your diet coming from sources that are sustainable to the environment or is it affecting the environment negatively? Are you willing to switch to products that would be better for the environment or not?</div>]]></description>
