I know that portfolios are used to collect data about a child and their development. I made a art portfolio in high school of our final pieces. I know my teachers used to keep what we would write and it would go with us to the next grade. I haven't used one before to collect student data

I have used portfolios before in other classes to collect student data. I know that a portfolio is a record of the child's learning process. I know that my teachers used portfolios with me when I was younger to see my development throughout my years in school. I would observe the skills that occur in the classroom, and then record them in the portfolio.

I have used portfolios in other classes in college for Child Development to show the development of the child through notes and other records throughout the semester.
My teachers in elementary school used portfolios to show a display of my work and development of my skills etc.
I know that portfolios are a collection of data of a person used for various different reasons to show the variation and change through the subject/information.

I have had a lot of experience with portfolios. From developing them in my other courses (mainly child development), to having my past teachers, primarily in Elementary school, create one on my behalf. I know that portfolios are a way for teachers/school officials to collect data and observation notes about a child. Typically portfolios are centered around one singular person. Portfolios are a great way to obtain a broader understanding of a child's skills and abilities

I know that portfolios are a great way to tack a child's progress over time. I know that assessment information and work samples can be added as a collection of items to look at. I don't think I have had to ever do a portfolio assignment though.

I know that child portfolios are used to track progress of developmental milestones and learning targets. In childhood assessment it is important to keep a running portfolio with multiple windows of information and sources to get a well-rounded, accurate, and objective interpretation of said child.
