We also form a few group for our discussion and also about virtual microbe.Actually I am quite nervous  when Dr Wan wants to collabrate with Lafayette College while doing our virtual microbe but I believe we can do this project better than our last semester.

In this week, we started to learn about microbial system which tAlk specifically about the cell wall and the characteristics. Actually, before we started our lecture, Dr Wan already asked, all of us to do some revision so that we dont get confused. Thats about microbiology.

Another subject that I am so excited when practical microbe, even it is so confusing because it has a lot of test tube ther and also we have to do so many test in one day but still it is quite happening for me. I like experiment so that we can know how the organism react with the chemicals.

The day that I skip my class because I have an event about my scholarship. Nothing to say much about his week but I just want to share about virtual microbe that we will start very soon. 

Our course need to do virtual microbe with two groups. The first one with local university and the last one with Lafayett University. I hope all of them can give cooperation and commitent while doing this. We as UPM student will help them while doing this project because we already do this project on our last semester. 

I hope I can manage my time and also give the best cooperation while doing this project. Four sure, better than last semester!

Its already week 4 and how times flies too fast. in this week, we are learning about algae, protozoa, bacteria and archaea in details. 

Honestly, we still didnt recognize the difference between them. I mean when someone ask us what the difference between them, we cant explained it in a god way. Maybe we just state the difference but we cant explained it. 
So i think in the topic especially when we learnt about the difference between cell wall of bacteria and archaea, we know it very well. 

About the other subject, so far so good awe just prepare for our test one.

In this week, Dr Wan mentioned about NASA APPS CHALLENGE. 
Actually, I just want to join this challenge as volunteer but suddenly, i dont know whats makes me want to joined as participants. 
Seriously, i am afraid to join this challenge because, I afraid that i cannot contribute any idea to my groups. But end up, I can overcome this challenge. 
I invited my friend from department of biochem to join this challenge to help my group. My friend is rally helpful i think because he can create apps and he really know about the programming and so on. 
From now on, i still nervous to join this challenge but when my group support me and then they came up with an creative idea, i think i feel so excited. We keep updating about our idea and do some catch up like meeting which we plan out our idea. We plan out how we can do our models and how we can solve the challenge when NASA give it to us.

Week 6, where we all busy with our test and revise all the chapter. 

In this week, we just prepare for our test and yeay counting days to come back home for midsem break! 
We have 2 papers which is biochem and microbiology.
Biochem is quite easy because the question is the same like the lecture note but microbiology, I m quite afraid because the first question, I already stuck !!
The question about, what is the advantage of endospore towards human. Seriously, I am afraid about the marks. When, I answered that question, I keep thinking about the answer but then I just do it and i give irrelevant answer i think. I'm quite disappointed that I could not answer that question!
But its okay, as long as we are study, doesnt mean we have to success all time because failure is the first step to be success!

FINALLY WEEK 7!!!!!
Week that all of us keep waiting to come back home.
In this week, we learnt about the principles of ecology. This lesson talked about the habitat, ecosystem,biosphere and all the symbiosis.

About the lab, this week we learnt about identification of fungi. And the best part is, when Dr Muhajir tells us that, on Friday we have no class. And everyone is jumping in the lab and smile happily. 

So thats all for this week and

Yeah we are back from one week sem break! 

In this week, we learned about the aspects of biotechnology in microbial ecology.  In this topic, we are learnt what is the real definition of biotechnology and also the influenced of application of biotechnology. 
So in this topic, I know that microorganism not only cause pollution but also microorganisms as solution to pollution. 
In this class, Dr Irwan asked us to find one biotechnology company and find out how that company work on it like how they use the application towards their company. 
In my group, we choose the Biodesix company. This company  is  a molecular diagnostic company, discovers, develops, and commercializes cancer tests that help patients and their doctors to make informed decisions about the treatment based on a patient’s unique molecular profile. It offers GeneStrat, a genomic blood test for patients who have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer; VeriStrat, a serum proteomic test that provides physicians with prognostic and predictive information; and an epidermal growth factor receptor mutation status study in the non-small cell lung cancer. 
So, Dr Irwan asked us to present in the class so that we all know how the application of microbiology works on the industry.

In this topic, we are study about how the industry related to microbiology. Like the concept of industry and how the application of microbiology can use in the industry. 

When we are on the lab doing our experiment, we have students from the school that came to our faculty. I'm one of the AJK of this Biovisit, are explained about this course. We explained we have learnt in this course. We explained to them how interesting this course when we are doing the experiments. They quite curious about this course and seems like they want to take this course! We are very impressed that this course, is one of the course that people will choose on the top of their list.  
I hope this event will do annually so that we can exposed to people our course in this faculty!

I would like to say this week is the best day in my life!!! 
Why ?! Because as i mention before this I joined NASA SPACE APPS CHALLENGE . Me, Kulim and Daus as one team. Guess what ?! we got top 60 176 team!!!! Seriously unexpected!!! we didnt target at all to get any top at all. We just want some experience like experience on how doing pitching, doing some prototype and also how we present it to judges. The judges were so nice and they said that our idea is interesting!!! 
ONE MORE!!!! Our classmate win the people choice award!!!!! OMG ONE MORE UNEXPECTED !!! I am so happy joining this!!!! Maybe next time we will have more team to join this kind of challenge! because why not right ?!

After NASA, test 2 just 2 days after that. It was a hectic week but fortunately, this test was open book test. The question is quite challenge but I still managed to answer it because the question need a correct and accurate answer. 
I think i like the genetics topic because I am curious about that. But I can't fully understand because this week is so busy week. The topic is about DNA and how DNA works in our body. It is fun to know that. 
How times flies so fast and it just 3 weeks more.

This week, we have to settle down our project mega of co-curriculum. So everyone was busy to finalize their project. Co-curriculum is good because we can learnt about the soft skills like leadership, and all that but sometimes co-curriculum is too focus on that project. Sometimes the project mega did not related to their co-curriculum. But finally, this is our last time taking co-curriculum!!!! And yeah we are free on saturday hooray!!!!

This week, we learnt about the immunology and microbial epidemiology and public health. 

This week we have to finish up our lecture because next week we are busy with 3Minute talk for our presentation and Musym. 
Okay, let me tell you little bit about immunology that I have learnt in this week. Immunology is the branch of medicine and biology concerned with immunity. So, immunology i the immune system which includes the various cells, tissues and organs that working collectively to defend against harmful pathogens, cells and substances.  So, what the relations between microbiology and immunology? 
The relation is the purpose of immune system itself. Immune system importance because to keep infection microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses,fungi out of the body and to destroy any infectious microorganisms that do invade the body. 
So thats the lesson a little intorduction of immunology that I learnt in this week.

HOOOOORAY THIS IS THE LAST OF SEM 2 !!!!!! 
All of us, were very excited and cant wait to go home to celebrate and fasting at the home. 

So this week we have symposium! It is really fun because we were exposed to the final year project. We were also can get the inspiration from other faculty when they present their fyp through oral, poster and also pecha kucha. It is really fun and we can also get some ideas for our fyp for the future, Yes, symposium should do annually so that we can get something benefit like get some ideas or experience. 

Last but not least, our 3 minute talk. It was held on the thursday on that week. I think 3 minute talk is better than pecha kucha because 3MT just one slides and we can manage to our script meaning that like pecha kucha, we will get nervous when the slides move from one slide to another slides because we want to catch up our script. If 3MT we just need one slides and we can manage our script because we did have to rush to catch up our script. So thats my opinion, overall just nice because we did it on our first year as microbiology student!!!!
