         <title>Learning Objective : Students will be able to find the perimeter of a given geometric figure. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This lesson would focus on finding the perimeter of a geometric shape. Students will need to be familiar with the units of length,&nbsp; 1 and 2 dimensional geometric shapes, and distance/length prior to this lesson. This lesson will solidify those concepts and support future geometry concepts such as area.&nbsp;<br>Technologies:&nbsp; Youtube and Minecraft( Education Edition)<br>Obstacles :<br>- Some students may not have the necessary prior knowledge for this lesson and would require a pre-lesson or review of geometric concepts.&nbsp;<br>- Depending on the students, I might need to provide students with notes to refer to throughout the lesson and activity as well a review prior/post lesson.&nbsp;<br><br>Teaching Math concepts are not my strength. Therefore, I intend to teach a math concept for this lesson plan for experience so that I can build confidence in this area. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Learning Objective : Students will be able to identify and create equivalent fractions using various methods.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This lesson would involve a hands-on manipulative such as fractions pieces. It would not be an introductory lesson to equivalent fractions; rather, this lesson will introduce the ways that the parts of fractions can be divided in halves to create equivalent fractions. Conversely, students will learn how to multiply the parts of fractions by two to create equivalent fractions.&nbsp;<br>Two technologies : fraction pieces, introductory video or slides that demonstrate the steps of identifying and creating equivalent fractions.<br>Students will likely not have a thorough and clear understanding of this lesson after one teaching. It will take preview and review, as it builds off of previous lessons and supports future lessons on fractions.&nbsp;<br>Some students might need to draw out an equivalent fraction chart in addition to using a manipulative so that they can actively divide the parts of equivalent fractions themselves to understand how parts equal a whole.&nbsp;<br>Some students may require reference notes and additional support depending on their comprehension of equivalent fractions and the previous lessons.&nbsp;<br>Not only are math concepts a weakness of mine, but fractions are especially difficult. It would be good practice to refresh my knowledge of fractions and to practice how I would teach these concepts in the future.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>Learning Objective : Students will be able to ask questions about a text, making predictions, and then reading to confirm or refute their predictions. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This lesson will be based on the DRTA reading comprehension strategy. Students will read 5 pages of the text and then make predictions based on what they have read so far. They will then read until they can determine whether their prediction was true or false, and repeat steps until the story is complete.&nbsp;<br>Students will each need a copy of the story Doctor De Soto, as well as a Predictions graphic organizer to write down the place in the text where they pulled context for their prediction, the prediction itself, and the confirmed predictions.&nbsp;<br>For students with lower reading levels, I will&nbsp; have an audio version of the book for students to listen to and follow along. I will also provide response prompt for students to use on their graphic organizers.&nbsp;<br>Students will likely understand the lesson the first time and will be able to practice independently.  </div>]]></description>
