I asked the chemical laboratory safety manager, Lisa Volk-Draper for her opinion. Writing is a bit of freedom for me because as a child my mothers adopted family did not like the thought of me knowing how to read and write. My grandmother had a old type writer that I used to teach myself the alphabet. When my grandmother found out I had started teaching myself the alphabet and trying to sound letters out, she decided that if I was going to write it had to be with my right hand. So a teacher in kindergarten saw the potential and she seen me struggle so between the teacher and my grandmother I gained the ability to write(with my right hand), and the ability to utilize phonics.

I had a nice conversation with Lori Oldenettel. What we had talked about was an in-depth conversation about writing and literature. I had asked her the four default questions as well as four of my own. How often do you use writing on a day-to-day basis?: She states that she has two jobs, and she is frequently using writing every day to write emails back-to-back from students, teachers, and staff in one, and the other she is emailing over colleagues. Is this for work or personally?: She had mentioned that she only writes for work, as she does not write in her free time, unless texting. Do you realize how much you writing you do?: She stated that she writes at least 8-9 hours a day, writing for both jobs at times. Do you enjoy writing: She said not really. For the questions I had asked. How do you feel about AI's advancement with writing?: Oldenettel had stated that the reason she didn't like writing much is because of AI's advancements and the intimidation it presents. Do you think AI can be beneficial when it comes to writing?: She said yes, when it comes to checking grammar, but no to everything else, as she believed that learning was much better than just copy and pasting from Chat GPT. Which format do you like to write in?: She had mentioned that she doesn't really like to write in many formats, but will do it if the job required. She would much rather write an email. Do you think writing is important?: She stated that writing as a society is very important, and not knowing how to write, or read, is a crucial loss to communicating with each other as humans.
