The personal and universal
- It was the first time that I had to move to a completely new environment where I knew no one. Since my education before 2014 has been in full Chinese and I had a very limited vocabulary, it was difficult to communicate with my friends and teachers, and to understand what was being taught in class.
- Everyone has entered a brand new environment at least once in their lives, so I believe that the experience of being in a new environment (and having to adapt and overcome challenges) would be very universal.

The ordinary and extraordinary
- Ordinary: Many people immigrate to other countries, so it's not that big of a deal(?), and the change of environment is generally a common experience growing up for many
- Extraordinary: Transitioning to a brand new environment for a 6-year-old who only knew how to spell "the" in English was probably quite extraordinary, considering how I was also able to grasp the language and reach a level higher than my peers in P2 in about a year and a half
