“Thank goodness for Jackie,” some people would say as they dropped one kid off to netball and the other off to footy training.

“She knew I wasn’t available,” said others, disgruntled at seeing their name next to some commitment.

“What a know-it-all,” said others when they were caught off guard at Jackie’s direct, yet efficient, way of communicating.

Considering how much of the town crisscrossed through Jackie, it was surprising that it took almost three whole days before it was noticed that she was missing.
