I gained throughout this module was speaking comes naturally and reading does not. There are three different approaches to learning how to read. These three approaches are hands-on approach, presenting then practicing the information and showing the direct application of reading and spelling. One thing that really stuck out to me was first graders knowing 2,000 sight words at such a young age.

This unit really made all the light bulbs click. I have a better understanding of how words are pronounced because of syllables. This is very beneficial to me because I feel like I tend to struggle when it comes to reading words.

Morphology helps me better understand the meaningful parts of words by breaking words down. In my classroom, I could see morphology being beneficial to my students and me to help us read better by being able to break down words into their smallest units.
