Today was normal. I was on a camping trip and I hiked up the steep hill. I got to the hill and set up camp to chill. At night, I was sleeping when suddenly, a bear was staring at me. I tried not to move, but was going to sit on me! I ran as fast as I could, with the bear in hot persuit. I saw a tree, and I it was practicly my loot. I jumped onto the tree with the bear still waiting. Soon, the bear's energy was draining. The bear went away and ended my strife. After my sleep, TWO bears came back and I said "Oh my gosh my life."
by Talon

It was July 12th it should be important day, I guess. My friend keeps reminding me that it is my golden birthday. I just wish I could spend it with my brother. Also, reminds me that covid started when I 9 and now I'm turning 12 it's just weird, I guess.

As we were running out of the classroom eagerly, we jumped into mom's car and stated, " YES! School is out!" Mom smiled back at us and started driving. Me and my sister looked at each other in confusion as we passed our own house. "Umm mom? I think we passed our house" I stated. "I know", mom says. We won't be coming back for a while". "What do you mean... where will we be staying then?" I spoke. My mom, smiling, says, " at the most magical place on Earth". "DISNEY WORLD!" my younger sister yells in excitement. Me, in shock, sits there sad yet happy, not sure what to think. I won't be able to see my pets every day, but I do get to see Mickey Mouse every day. "I Hope you guys are excited! I booked out this vacation just for you guys. For the next 3 weeks we will be having the time of our lives!". Trust me, I was SO SO excited! I just wish I remembered my toothbrush.

The Last Day of School-Jenessa

It was June. The 7th, to be exact. You could feel the gravity of the day in the air. Today was important. Today was big. The birds sang about it, the wind blew excitedly, the sun shined in particularly sparkly way; the tingle of anticipation bathed the world that day.
I knew it from the moment I woke. I hurried out of bed, drinking in the morning through breakfast. This last stretch of school was s o close. I lathered a piece of toast with jam.
"It's the last day!" My mom sang, lounging on the couch. " You guys should try to finish early, there's a surprise after school."
"Besides summer?!" My brother and I grinned at each other.
"Today will be magnificent," I said. I knew that already though. The morning exclaimed that the instant I woke up.
I went to my last Livelesson of the year. I finished my last lesson, using every bit of strength I had to take my time.
"I'm done! I'm done!" I cried, the instant I hit "mark complete," My brother echoed me and we both ran down the steps.
"What's the surprise?!" My brother asked eagerly, and my mother laughed.
"Get in the car, and you'll see"
So we filed in, excitement coursing through our veins. My brother hounded my mother on what the surprise was as we drove, but
each unfamiliar tree and turn in the roads prodded at the wild ideas I had about the surprise. A party maybe? A giant ice cream cake? A puppy? It was endless and I nearly couldn't take it. We took one last turn. We parked. We walked a trail to a hilly park. There in the middle beneath a tree was my best friends, a box and donuts bigger than my face. My friends had the same look on their face I was sure I had.
"Donuts?! No way!"
"There's something in the box. We were waiting for you to open it."
I couldn't contain my joy.
I went home that day full of donuts and happiness, to end the last day of school on a sleepover with my besties, and a box full of books, candy, and movies we could watch all night. With that day, sumer started off on the highest note possible.

The last day of school was not normal.
I mean, it started that way, with a pleasant mix of excitedness for summer and sadness for leaving the 7th grade and nervousness for 8th grade, but when I opened Connexus, I realized today was going to be very... well, interesting.
Everything looked the same, but my Webmail had 500 messages displayed. But I clicked on the icon and found it empty, so I refreshed my browser. It didn't help, so I just decided to move on to my schoolwork.
Instead of the normal red-, orange-, and green-colored events on my planner, they were all pink and purple with the lesson name written in something that looked like Japanese. Again, I refreshed my browser, and again, it didn't help. Google translate would be my best friend today!
Going into LiveLesson at 9:15, I found chaos. It was spam o'clock in the chat pod, and everyone's mic and webcam rights were open. I quickly reached to push the volume button down to 1 on my laptop. The teacher got it a little under control, and there was a competitive Kahoot in class. Then the teacher's cat sat down on their keyboard and the LiveLesson went crazy. I exited the tab.
Summer was so close, I just had to make it through today. My history LiveLesson was no better - there was a dead mouse in the teacher's desk drawer, attracted by an open bag of peanut M&Ms.
Finally, I reached the end of the day, grateful for my boring summer.
