Collaborating with and observing colleagues allow teachers to continue to improve their approach to teaching as well as implementation of differentiated instruction. Being provided with professional development opportunities allow teachers to feel supported in providing adequate instruction. If teachers are controlled by fear of administration, and the rating they will provide them, a nuturing, enthusiastic learning environment can not be created for the students. The best instruction occurs when teachers are appreciated and supported by administration.

This building has built a culture of trust and commitment for teachers I feel; be a lifelong learner we support you.

One thing a checklist may never be able to effectively measure is the "trust" a teacher can build with individual children and the class as a whole to be able to absorb content. This trusting culture of care aka love and support is the heart of the classroom. My favorite quote "Children learn things they think are unimportant from people who think they are important."
