I see a family tree. It's a relatively symmetrical piece, including both of Frida's grandparents on both sides, her parents and baby Frida under them. All four of her grandparents seem to have stern expressions, as none of them are smiling. I see a fetus version of Frida still connected to her mother by the umbilical cord. I see young Frida standing naked, amongst what is presumably her home. They are standing in a grass field, with a cloudy sky and a sea in the back.

I think this piece is about Frida Kahlo's family, and was made in order to showcase her family. I think Frida chose to use a more abstract way of depicting her family so as to better show her lineage- who came from who, and how it lead to her birth.

I wonder why Frida Kaho decided to show a fetus hanging from her mother? I wonder why she decided to depict herself standing amongst those buildings? I wonder why she is holding onto the red ribbon? Is it to symbolise how the rest of their lineage is now in her hands and, like how she is holding onto the riobbon, could stop with her?

I see five people 'posing' for a 'picture', sitting on the couch. The eldest woman, presumably the mother, is holding a newspaper while sitting dignified on the couch, while staring at the viewer with a relaxed smile. There are two teenaged girls, one is sitting down more casually and staring at the viewer with a gleeful smile on her face, while the other is doing something similar, but laying down instead. They both have matching hairstyles. There is a young boy sitting on the floor, wearing the most unique clothing of the whole painting- nothing but a hat with feathers and a loincloth. He is also holding what seems to be a bow. The oldest man, perhaps the father, is the only one both not staring at the viewer or sitting, and instead leaning forward and staring at the mother.

I think the artwork is about showcasing the painter's family, showing them depicted in a scene of perhaps taking a picture. I think the boy might be a fan of the outdoors, or perhaps more of an outdoorsy type. I think the girls might have a more playful and casual personality, judging by how they sit, while the mother is more dignified and composed. I think the father might be standing to symbolise how he might always be on the go, always too caught up in different affairs to find the time to even sit down for a moment.

I wonder why the young boy is wearing that? Is he a fan of the outdoors? Would he be considered the 'strange' child of the family? I wonder why the old man is not staring at the viewer? Is he too infatuated with the woman to care? Is he not looking at the woman at all, and instead just couldn't care less to look up? Why are all her family members sitting in such different ways?

For Frida's piece, I see that it is much more abstract in its concept. I can see only the headshots of her grandparents and the busts of her parents are visible, floating in the sky as they are connected by a red ribbon. Georgette's painting, meanwhile, is much more grounded in reality. It is a scene you could easily capture with a camera, with all the family members around the couch as they smile at the viewer. I think Frida's piece was more focused on showcasing her lineage through the family tree, while Georgette's painting was more so to show her family as they were then, in their regular form. I wonder what caused both Frida and Georgette to go in such different directions for their artworks, despite having similar ideas?
