Kahoot! for Individual Meeting #1

Hi Everyone!
Since I am not an instructor (I coordinate the Kahua Hoʻomau Ola student support group for 1st year students, based in Kīpuka NHCP), I was still interested in finding ways I can incorporate Kahoot! within the program.

The first one was implemented during the first of two individual meetings that the students are required to schedule with me for the Spring 2023 semester. I included a temperature check question (the picture I used is from Lori Lum, Leeward CC's mental health specialist who was a guest speaker for one of our seminars in the fall semester), a review of the Kaʻao Framework (a Native Hawaiian approach to supporting students along their academic journey, that was introduced to the students at the beginning of the Fall 2022 semester), and a question about which program support(s) they feel is/are beneficial.

This allowed me to review discussions we had in the fall semester, as well as plan with the student how how to make their spring semester as successful as possible.

I am sharing a duplicate copy, and even with the "real" Kahoot! that I implemented with the students, I asked them to use a # or some other name that doesn't identify themselves. I really didnʻt mean for this to be a teaching activity, but rather an engaging & discussion activity, therefore the leaderboard/points and who got the correct answer (for the few questions that did have a right/wrong answer) was not important.

Although I already implemented this, I appreciate feedback!

Lesley

So this is the final kahoot! I give my students for their final/4th exam. It will be difficult if you have not taken biology/microbiology before, but it's useful to know because it deals with the micro aspects of our immune system and immune system diseases. Good luck!
