This week I watched a football game in which Manchester United playing against Aston Villa. It was a 0-1 lose for MU. After the terrible match, Ole Solskajer, head coach of MU spoke that Cristiano is bringing positive impact to the whole team on and off the pitch. The following sentences are dictated by me after watching the whole video.

Yeah you know he has a great impact both on and off the pitch. And Cristiano is still so professional. The discipline he shows throughout his career is going to have positive impact on the team. He’s been absolutely top. Also the communication is important. Of course you know he’s not able to play every games, so that’s good for him to chat with me when he feels like that he’s not ready. In most of the time I can understand my classmates well, add more information for their ideas and most importantly, express my own opinions. But sometimes I feel hard to disagree with others. I can tell there's something wrong with their points but I dare not to point out that for reasons. Thus, next time at least I will give it a shot to disagree with someone.

The Industrial Revolution has caused a huge impact on the society as a whole. From the environmental perspective, it leaded to serious pollution. Back then, people produced a large scale of goods for sale at the cost of damaging the environment. For example, the massive use of coal and other fossil fuels resulted in acid rain. Fortunately, people soon realized that this is not sustainable and they took actions to protect the environment.

Today I just finished a Netflix series called Maid. It’s about a young mom’s experience of escaping from her husband’s abusing. The mom’s name is Alex and she has a 3-year-old daughter called Maddy. Her husband Sean is addicted to alcohol. Sean is a bartender and he gets drunk almost every day. Alex and Sean used to be a happy couple, but after Alex’s getting pregnant, which Sean considered as a distortion of his life and plans, she has been mentally controlled by his husband all the time. One day after Sean got drunk he threw a plate on the wall behind Alex. It’s the plate that let Alex made up her mind to leave Sean with Maddy. They had nowhere to go therefore they went to a domestic violence shelter. In order to make her living, Alex has to work as a cleaner (that’s why the name of the series is Maid). At the end of the series Alex obtains the full custody of Maddy and she goes to Montana for college (which is the one she dropped out because of Sean).

The series makes my emotion changing frequently, sometimes I can’t help laughing, sometimes I cry for the great maternal love… It also reminds me that domestic violence is so hurtful that I can’t be an abuser. I can say that this is the best series I have seen this year. Maid not only give me happiness but inspire me to think deeply on the situation where the stay-at-home moms are. Maybe in the future I would try to help the stay-at-home moms in need.

This week I have watched an interesting video how personality tests work. They are based on the answers of the questions test takers were asked about. So the result may no be so accurate as the test takers’ moods change from time to time. In fact, I’ve done a lot of personalities tests since I was in primary school. But I have never think about how they work. This ted talk does tell me something I don't really know.

Sometimes when students are distracted by social factors, like social media messages or teachers' accent, they might feel upset and discouraging. The socio-affective Strategies aims to help these students by asking for clarification, cooperation, lowering anxiety, self-encouragement, and taking emotional temperature. This strategy may be helpful for me because some of my teachers have strong accents.
