To support students in choosing appropriately challenging CE projects, I would start by helping them to identify issues they care about. I would encourage them to set realistic and smart goals and select activities that push them beyond their comfort zones while remaining realistic. I think it's important to guide them to consider what skills they want to develop, how their engagement can create real community impact.

Tatia

First step will be to inquire about their Life Aims and Goals in the 1st interview. Some students need guidance matching their interests to a particular system. Together we can explore how their choices of subjects and projects reflect their aims. Then I can guide by matching students to like-minded members of the school community, as a first step to an out-of-class experience. These staff members could have chats with the students and share their engagement journeys with them. I connect students to greater community bodies which take action in this particular area of interest, and support them in making meaningful learnings from their experiences through the meetings throughout the year.
