Beginning, middle, end, characters, problem, solution, setting, plot, chronological order (First, then, next), good description with use of adjectives. All stories must have at least a plot, timeline and depending on what type of story, characters.

Certain stories stand the test of time because they have a good plot and storyline. Also it depends on the type of story, historical fiction might stand the test of time because people want to read about history and adding elements of fiction make it more interesting. People might read Shakespeare's work still because plays are still being put on today. Classics are being read from a long time ago because of how well they are written.

1,2.The parts of a story are the setting the events, the plot, the problem and the solution, beginning, middle and the end. Characters, there must also be a topic to the story, and the story should not be longer than 60 pages because otherwise they are just to long.(Novelete or Novel). We need to have a timeline to tell what the time is, EX: Day, Night and afternoon, Also there has to be a climax. The things that all stories have in common is that, they all have pages, they all have an author but not always an illustrator.
3.A good plot or a hook, cliffhangers or unexpected suspense, must evolve so it can't be the same thing and it must make sense.
