Celcom's main business activity is to develop and market Mobile Services such as Celcom GSM and ART 900 and Fixed Services such as Direct Connect, Leased Lines, Equal Access and Virtual Private network (VPN). Within Celcom's short history in the telecommunications business, it has ventured into value-added services, the latest being multimedia. Celcom is part of Axiata Group, one of the largest Asian telecommunication companies, focused on high growth low penetration emerging markets. The company was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Celcom Axiata Berhad operates as a subsidiary of Axiata Group Berhad. Celcom Axiata Berhad provides mobile communication services for customers in Malaysia. It offers voice, mobile broadband and email, roaming, and IDD services, as well as telemetry and fixed wireless desk phone solutions. The company also provides a unified messaging service that allows users to view a fax message via Web; and AirCash services, which provide instant access to money via client’s mobile phone. Celcom is one of the largest telecommunications service providers in Malaysia and the region. Its core business remains prepaid and postpaid mobile voice services. </div>]]></description>

Although it is a contract job, they also give the same benefit as permanent staff such as EPF, annual leave, claims, and health care. Moreover, some contract staff who show good performance maybe absorb as permanent. Therefore, employee’s basic needs are supposed to be covered with the basic salaries from the company and Celcom Berhad also provides bonuses to its employees based on their performance.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>Celcom’s Occupational Safety and Health Management System </em></strong>is a project team has been set up to establish, document and implement Occupational Safety and Health Management System in-line with the standard that will ensure all employees comply with the management system and avoid effects of occupational risks. High-risk activities such as working at height and other occupational hazards have been identified and appropriate risk controls are in place. The employees who work in those areas are identified, trained, equipped with specific personal protective equipment with strict enforcement. In addition, other specialized training, workshops and briefings are conducted for employees and contractors/business partners to improve their awareness and compliance with the established Occupational Safety and Health Management System.</div>]]></description>

To make the employees comfortable in the work environment, Celcom applies worker engagement philosophy in the work place. Their Employee Engagement Survey (conducted by an independent third party) is the primary method Celcom uses for engaging with its employees. The EES seeks detailed information from employees on a number of different topics affecting them. Key finding of the EES will be shared wtih management and employees in each OpCo. Additional focus group studies are carried out in some instances to further identify the gaps. Celcom trusts that drew in representatives will make a decent workplace and great connections among the representatives.</div>]]></description>

For Celcom Berhad, this is not a problem as they do their recruitment via social media which reaches to a wide range of potential employees. Celcom Berhad would post a status on Facebook which includes the requirements and salary of the job. Social media allows Celcom Berhad to receive more applicants, since they can reach a wider radius of interested applicants. One of the benefits that come with this is that it lets the company to widen their search for the perfect fit. </div>]]></description>
