I agree with the article "Do Robots Wonder" because robots can't think for themselves so they can't feel curiosity. People have to program them to do things so they actually don't do anything. Everything they do is just programming. In conclusion no I do not think Roz can feel curious.

My opinion is Roz does feel curiosity. First, in the article "Do Robots Wonder," it states that robots could be programed to try to act like humans but they really can't. This supports my opinion because if robots can't feel emotion like curiosity, how does Roz feel them? If Roz feels it then she CAN feel curiosity. For, example, in the novel titled ,"The Wild Robot" it states "And yet, as she sat in her crumpled crate, Roz felt something like curiosity," and "She was curious about the warm ballof light shining down on her." Clearly, Roz can feel emotion unlike other robots like curiosity.

I think that Roz can feel emotions because on the Wonderopolis article, it says that in 20-30 years, robots may be able to feel emotion. Maybe the book is set in 20-30 years. Also, when the pinecones fell on Roz, the narrator said that Roz was feeling annoyance. Also, in the book, Roz went into a cave and couldn't help but wonder what was in there.

Same with the sea otters Roz was curious about them too. Why I think Roz can be curious. Is she already has 3 emotions Roz has curiosity, annoyance and fear. Roz has so many posiblites in emotions.

I think Roz, Can feel emotions because she/he wonders about what the shining ball was and she scanned it and it was the sun and she says she feels annoyance of the pinecones and she’s also curious of what brought her or him to the island but she doesn’t know cause the boat sank in the storm so she couldn’t identify if she was even made in a factory. (Article) I think robots could do what us humans do but they would have to take time to learn to do it just like us growing up it takes time to develop what we’re good at and bad I’m not saying she’s young cause robots don’t have age’s so I think robots can feel emotions and wonderings of what certain things are because she was wondering what the sun was at first and what was hitting her on the head in the forest which we’re pinecones. So I think she can fully feel emotions when she fully develops.
Yes, The robot may know some techniques to learn easier but she wouldn't have been able to function if the beavers weren't there to turn him/her on. So couldn't fully function with out nature.

I think that Roz can't be feeling curious. For example, when Roz found a cave after the hurricane, she never thought about what kind of creature or animal might be inside. In the article titled, "'The Wild Robot" it states, "It looked like a safe place for a robot. She stomped across the hillside and up to the cave, but never stopped to wonder what might be lurking within.''

Next, Roz never wondered why the bears were trying to kill her. According to the novel titled, "The Wild Robot" it states," I don't understand you, bears," said Roz. After the bears scattered off, Roz went back to doing nothing.

Lastly, Roz can't be curious because in the article titled, "Do Robots Wonder?" it states, "Robots still can't think on their own, like humans." Sadly, Robots can't think, or wonder like us. That is because robots have artificial intelligence, so their robotic minds can't really think or process information.

In conclusion, I think that Roz can't be feeling curious.

From reading the article titled, "Do Robots Wonder" I believe that robots do not wonder and they have no feelings what so ever. But from reading "The Wild Robot' I 100% believe that the robot Rox has feelings. Here is my evidence from the article, "Do Robots Wonder" it states, " Many can be controlled directly." Also, "Robots cannot think on there own like humans."Now this is my evidence from the wild robot that supports the idea that robots can be curious so the article, "The Wild Robot" states,"Roz was about to unload a whole armful of annoying pinecones."So this piece of evidence shows emotion because it says annoying which is a emotion. Also Roz was scared when she was being chased by the bares because Roz kept saying I don't understand. I have very mixed emotions.

Roz can wonder because robots have a robot brain to talk on their own and move on their own. Roz is a robot that was the last robot to make it in one piece. The others didn't make it on the island because they smashed on the rocks. The otters turned on Roz and she didn't know where she was and she thought ''where am i?''so she looked around and wonders and wonders where she is. She looks at other robots to help her figure out where she is and she found parts of robots and she thought about what happened to them. Then, she walked away from the broken robot parts and roz wondered that she needs to know how survival in the wild. So, I believe that robots can wonder.

In the text it says "Robots still cannot think on their own like humans" but it seems like they do think like a human because they talk and they have human features that make them seem like a human.

I do think Roz can feel curiosity because she has been wondering all the time in the story. She then now knows she is on a island and she does have curiosity because all the stuff she is wondering is so much and it has some meaning to why she does to it. Because she can find out how you are without saying there name and she wonders if I can do that and she lots
of curiosity.

I think Roz could be feeling curiosity because in the book "The Wild Robot" it shows how Roz has been adapting to the world around her and how Roz has close to the same features as a human, such as how she "sleeps" at night or how she can feel fear. In that case, I think she could also think for herself and feel curiosity about if she's gonna like being in a forest instead of a factory or if she wants to find a way to get out of the forest. It also states in the text "Do Robots Wonder?", that scientists think it is possible to make a robot that would act and think like a human. So their is possibility that the Science Fiction book "The Wild Robot " takes place in the future and Roz is a robot who feels curiosity and acts like a human.
