Answer: The beliefs and culture of the colonial groups were very varied. The Plymouth colonists
were Puritan separatists, and shared many similarities to the
Massachusetts Bay settlers in their Puritan beliefs. New York and New Jersey had very ethnically and religiously diverse populations. Pennsylvania was founded by Quakers, and the southern part of Carolina quickly became dependent on slave labor. As one can see, they were already very different, leading
to regional changes very quickly.
