- Provides teachers with objective and constructive feedback.

- Ensures rigorous assessment is taking place.

- Set up in a way that students learn how to learn (Approaches to Learning).

- Students learn by doing: e.g. community and service projects

- Expectations for second language allow students to develop a fluency and comprehension in French

ATLs - Specific Approaches to Learning are  articulated across the grades. 

IB learning profile - in all subjects and all grades

- Subjects are not taught in isolation - Transfer of skills

- Inquiry based and promotes critical thinking

- We are the only English IB school in our area

- Framework encourages global and intercultural awareness.  KBS can encourage these with our without IB

- Additional cost for evaluation and visits.  
-  Deadlines cause stress.  They may not be convenient for school, and are not flexible.
-  Grade 10 external moderation is mandatory and costly to parents and/or school.
- disorganization at IBO head office. Many divisions. Makes it difficult for our business office.
- standards and expectations at higher levels can be hard to meet in DP grades.
- MYP coodinator: mandatory role. At least .5 release time required.  
-  In a small school, a lot of work falls on the shoulders of a few.
- e- assessment - standardized testing, with non-flexible dates.
