I think this part of the story is very important because we all think of those days that scare us the most and just hope that day will never come, but for her it did. Sometimes we have to accept the fact that not only good things will happen to us. This part reveals a lot about Mary, it tells us just how really scared she was of this day. Just how much fear she is probably in right now. It built a lot of suspense for me because I did not know what was gonna happen next. I relate to this a lot because sometimes I say stuff I regret, a lot. Things can really come and haunt you in the future. I think Mary in most of the story was scared of what people might think about her if she said the truth. She was scared for her life, She thought people might look at her differential and treat her wrongly. I think that whole paragraph just really explains Mary's situation. Everyone wanted her gone, but nobody knew she was innocent. This quote has such a strong meaning to it. I feel like not only Mary can relate to it but everyone can. Life puts me through a lot of pain and struggle and to not have any pain through it all really means a lot.
