it was thought that during The Enlightment it was thought that human reasoning could discover the truths of the world. a lot of questioning. Science over God, and reasoning over superstition. this song in my opinion seems to represent that well. "what's a god to a non believer"

Toussaint L'Ouverture.

Toussaint L'Ouverture was a leader of the Haitian Revolution, which was a successful anti-slavery and anti-colonial insurrection in the French colony of Saint-Domingue from 1791 until 1804. He was known for his military and political acumen which turned Saint-Domingue, the most prosperous slave colony of the time, into an independent country under a new name, Haiti. the Negro's Complaint is a poem by William Cowper, which talks about slavery from the perspective of a slave. It was written in 1788. It was intended to be sung to the tune of a popular ballad, Admiral Hosier's Ghost. the reason why I chose this song is because Toussaint was a slave. though he led a successful slave revolt and emancipated the slaves in the french colony.

Father Miguel hidalgo was a Mexican priest, free thinker, and teacher. Leader of the Mexican

War of Independence. The reason why I chose this song is because of the lyrics "Trust me, on my I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T sh, hustlin'
Chasing dreams since I was 14
With the four-track, bussin'
Halfway cross that city with the backpack
Fat cat, crushing labels out here, nah, they can't tell me nothin'
We give that to the people, spread it across the country
Labels out here, nah, they can't tell me nothin'
We give it to the people, spread it across the country

Can we go back? This is the moment
Tonight is the night, we'll fight 'til it's over
So we put our hands up
Like the ceiling can't hold us" he was the leader for the Mexican war of Independence, the word Independence is in there.

the reason why I chose this song is because the lyrics "hit the road Jack, don't you come back no more no more" remind me of the image "no trespass" the point of Monroe doctrine was warning European powers to not interfere with affairs. in the image that was shown it was basically telling them to go away , not allowed.

I think it is quite obvious why I chose this song for the one and only former protector of Peru. the liberator of Chile,Peru, and Argentina. he was known as a national hero. he helped lead the revolutions against Spanish rule. the lyrics "be leaders" "do it for your country, do it for you name" really remind me of him and what people see him as.
