They will be screened individually a week prior to sessions beginning. Then after reviewing their screening forms with them, I will explain an overview of the group such as they may or may not know other group members, group rules, The group will consist of 10-12 group members in grades 6th -8th and mixed genders that have been referred. I will stress the participation needed to be part of the team. Stage 1: Relationship building, trust, and honesty will be created by me not only getting to know them and their experiences, but sharing mine as well regarding the group topic. Introduction questions and activities about introducing each other will take place the first session due to everyone being in different grade levels and ages. Because every participant is in group for something in common, they will not feel alone in their struggles. Confidentiality will be discussed but also the limitations regarding abuse, neglect, and harm. 

Stage 2: After the group gets established and comfortable, some disclosures will take place and some touchy and sensitive topics will arise. There will be a mix of group activities/tasks and individual reflection activities. Input from the group members will benefit another. For example, a participant may recommend something to a fellow peer in progressing. 

Stage 3: The last session day will be the closing of the Coping Clean group. This will include what was their favorite part about the group, what will stick with them the most from group, what goals they have after participating in the group, and what changes have they seen in themselves, if any. Universality will be a factor since participants will realize they are not the only ones with struggles on a specific issue making them feel inclusive and not judged.
