When I was in third grade, I was really bad at reading. I would not do well in tests. Most of the time, I would not prepare for my Reading tests do I would get a bad grade in the Reading tests, but I was determined to do well on the test next week. I prepared for the test at home, and studied all the definitions that the test might have, and I also studied really hard on a book that I sas reading because that would be on next week's test. I studied every day, and I would ask my parents to quiz me on the definitions that the Reading test would have. Soon I got really good at memorizing the definetions got better at memorizing parts of the book that would be on the test. When the test started, I saw the questions looked just like what I have studied through the last week, and the questions that was about the book our class read was what I memorized, so I finished the test and double checking if I did make any errors that would bring my test grade down. After, I turned in my test. A week later, my test results came and as soon as I got mine, I saw an 100, I was really happy because this would bring my Reading grade from a seventy to an eighty. I showed my mom and she was really proud of me.

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because this shows that after you prepare to an event, you will do way better than you previously thought you would do.

In Fifth Grade, we had this event coming up that had to do with a track race. This event was called Field day. The even would start in a week and we all mad teams in P.E. My team members were Owen, Jeremiah, and James. I was really excited , but I knew I had to practice a lot because I was a pretty slow runner. When I got home, I asked my mom if I could go outside and run, and my mom said yes. I went outside and I started to run. I practiced my sprinting, stamina, and much more. I kept working on my stamina and soon I became a faster runner and I got a way better time than before on my stamina run. I kept doing this everyday getting better by the day. The day before the race, I worked my hardest in running and stamina. When the race started, We had to wait on the bleachers because we had to watch the other people run the mile, 200 meter dash, and other races. When it was our teams turn, we were first place ost of the way, and then I ran, and we kept our first place title, but when the last people on our team raced, we got second, which is still really good because there was 6 teams on the relay race. When I went home, I was proud of myself.

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because I prepared everyday for the race, and I got better everyday, and when the race started, I got 2nd place which for me is succeeding.
