2. In the story is Joe, Jamal, Curt, Mr. Bonita and Joes parents presented. 

3. Joe is the main character. 

Jamal is Joes best friend. 

Mr. Bonita is Joe’s sciences teacher. Curt is a classmate 

Joes parents are just his parents. 

4. Joe is 14 years old and he moved to U.S when he was in second grade. He is Mexican and has thin and puny lips. 

Jamal loves pups, he is helpful, black and has tall lips. He is not good at talking about problems. 

Joes father has homophobia; he thinks they are mental sick and are perverts.  

Joes mother is sweet and is a normal mother. She is curious about Joes life. 

Mr. Bonita is honest, he has a partner, and likes that the students treat each other fairly. 

Curt is a bully; he has no limits and got a wild temperament. 

 5. We don’t know that much about what the characters feel and think. But we know a bit of what Joe thinks and feels. 

6. . Mr. Bonita is the teacher of Jamal, Curt and Joe. Curt and Jamal are friends. Jamal and Joe are best-friends. And Joes lives with his parents. They can all talk with each other. 

7. Joes and Jamal is involved from the beginning and to the end of the story. Curt is involved in the end of the story, and so are Joes parents and Mr. Bonita. 

8. The story take place in 2000 and something, we can see that because of the language, telephones, and what time the story is published. The story is over a couple of days. 

9. The story is written in present tense. “Now I turn off the TV and go to the kitchen.” 

10. The setting of the story is normal; they are a middle class. They are not poor and they are not rich. 

11. The main theme of the story is to be different, do what you love, and be together with whom you love. 

12. I think the Author has written the story because he maybe knows a person who has experienced things like that. Maybe he has experienced something like that. 

13. I interpret the story like it’s to be different. 

14. I would continue the story, so Jamal and Joe when they get a little older would be together as a pair. 

15. I haven't read other stories there have the same theme or message. 

16. I can relate the theme of the story to the fact that it could have been about women. 

17. I like the story because it has an important theme, and it’s also a good written story. I can't relate to the theme in my life.

18. I think that Joe is a good friend because he is honest to Jamal, and Jamal is a good friend because he listens to Joe, but Jamal is also a little bad against Joe because he stops talking to him after they kissed. 

19. I think that Curt and the other kids is very evil against Mr. Bonita. It isn't fair to Mr. Bonita that they are talking bad behind his back.
