Review of Class Apps

The two apps I chose to review are Notability and ChatGPT. Notability is a note-taking app for iOS. It is best used on a iPad for taking notes that students can revisit and review. I like this app because I personally have an iPad that I use for school, so this app seems like it could be very useful. For school I could use this app during class to take notes and for personal use I can use this app as a planner to plan my days and weeks out. I definitely plan on trying out Notability in the future. The other app I reviewed was ChatGPT. I have heard of this app but have never really looked into it. This program is an AI software that allows you to ask any type of question and receive an answer. In school, I could use this app if I am confused about something I am learning, I can ask ChatGPT for clarification on the topic. Personally, ChatGPT can be used to answer any sort of questions from cooking to animals. I plan on trying out ChatGPT next time I am looking for an answer!

Wakelet is an online platform that allows individuals to post content and resources in a visual format. People can post YouTube videos, blog posts, podcasts, websites, and really whatever content they are trying to provide.

Technology:

The technical part of Wakelet is very easy to use. All you have to do it paste the URL of your content, and Wakelet automatically embeds the content right onto your page. Anyone looking to use Wakelet would not have trouble figuring out the technicalities.

In the classroom:

Wakelet would be a great resource to use in the classroom. Teachers can share their Wakelet with the class, making it easy for students to locate resources needed for their learning.

Cost:

Wakelet pro can be a little pricey, but the free option of Wakelet is very beneficial and could be just enough for students and teachers to use. Basic features are available with Wakelet, at no extra cost!

Digital story telling is a way to use digital features on a computer to tell a story. Digital story telling is a way to combine story telling with media such as video, clip art, audio, graphics, and voice over. This is a way to teach an audience about a topic or story in a more interactive, interesting way.

There are seven elements to digital stories. Point of view is used to determine the point of the story and who you are telling the story to. Dramatic question is used to keep the audience interested with a question that need to be answered. Authors use emotional content like desire and humor to connect to the audience in a way that everyone can relate to emotionally. Voice and soundtrack are elements where an author uses their voice to give a deeper emotional meaning to the story that pictures and videos cannot. A soundtrack is the noise or music that an author uses to set the tone of the story. Pacing is an element that means how long an image or video is on the screen and how long a viewer has to absorb what they are seeing. Lastly, economy is an element that means the worth or importance of an image. Images can be symbolic or literal, and there does not always have to be a lot of them.
