From there onwards it was the time to settle in my new home.I had a lot to unpack and i stayed up late just to organize my things in my new home. I felt a bunch of emotions which felt like a whole zoo in my stomach. I was happy and looking forward to making new friends and to look at the new city,Brighton.

Being able to plan on time with keeping in mind the week's timetable and thus creating a schedule.

This also involves studying and completing the homeworks and assignment given on time.

Following the right teacher-

For me,the right teacher to look upto for guidance plays a huge important role and at the end of the day,if i am unable to figure something out I can always look upto them and they will guide me for sure!!

Taking Frequent Breaks-

Since I like the beach, spending my free time at the beach,eating my favourite food, listening to music and watching my favourite influencers can act as a good stress buster for me and help me find a way back to the student in me and thus avoid burout.

Being consistent-

To be able to complete my daily to-do list for the day helps me stay consistent!!!

Having the right people who fit my vibe and make me happy like my parents,sisters makes me want to push myself harder.

Motivation-

Write down my aim for the academic year on a piece of paper and sticking it to the wall and looking at it daily acts like a constant motivation for me and not give up!!

I always look for videos relating to studying effectively which always help me in planning my time and studying effectively.

I feel that creating a balance between studying,planning,and finding things that brings me joy plays a major factor.

The frequent visits planned out by the UBIC staff helped me understand my future campus more and explore the facilities and the lecture rooms. The transition lectures helped me gain an understanding about the structure of the coure while at the university. It helped gain an insight for the requirement of the course.The univesrsity website was easily accessible and thus allowed tme to look into the deeper specifications of the course.The structure and the assesment was clearly laid out and helped me gain an idea about the modules.

Plagirism is copying someone else's work without giving them credit. If caught in plagirism it would lead to a breach in academic integrity. The assignment specifications and ensuring proper citations of the references of the sources used in the assignment helped me be careful about plagarism. Honesty is an attribute which means being true to one own self. It can be seen as a personality trait and this can make or break a character impression of a person. For my future degree, honesty is the most important attribute of all as this allows me to be be true to what i would do in the future.

This strategy allows me to systematically arrange my notes into three sections: cues, detailed notes, and summaries, which aid in easy recall and thorough review. Throughout my research process, I apply summarizing to distill key ideas, skimming to quickly identify overarching themes, and scanning to precisely locate specific information. I have also honed my ability to differentiate between academic and general interest sources. This differentiation is accomplished by carefully examining abstracts, which briefly communicate the core concepts of scholarly work, and by evaluating features such as the presence of peer review, rigorous citation practices, and a formal tone—contrasted with general sources that often employ a more casual, opinionated style and frequently lack proper references. Completing the ‘Study Skills’ section (chapter 5.4) in the Pathways CareerSource textbook has remarkably strengthened my research skills. It has taught me to effectively leverage technology in my research efforts and the fundamental dos and don'ts of mobile phone usage in academic settings. I have also become skilled in various note-taking methods, including outline, chart, and Cornell approaches. Additionally, I have learned the SQR3 method (Skim, Question, Read, Recite, Review), which significantly improves my reading comprehension and memory retention, along with vital techniques in research methodology and memory application. My writing capabilities have grown significantly through the experience of crafting essays, lab reports, and summaries. This process begins with drafting, followed by a comprehensive review with a tutor, where I actively engage with feedback by asking clarifying questions, re-reading my work, and making necessary revisions. Lastly, through the 'Critical Thinking' section (chapter 5.2) of Pathways CareerSource, I have gained a deeper understanding of critical thinking as the ability to analyze, evaluate, and form well-reasoned judgments. By utilizing the Critical Skills framework. Catch the right information, Reveal meaning, Investigate sources, avoid Traps, Infer hypotheses, and Communicate clearly.I now approach problems and sources with a more thoughtful and analytical mindset, enabling me to engage in more meaningful discussions and produce higher quality work.

I am also confident in using Turnitin, which has been a crucial resource for maintaining academic integrity. Moreover, I have developed the ability to communicate suitably through both formal and informal messaging based on the situation. When contacting college staff or lecturers via email, I make sure my tone remains professional, my message is clear, and I include appropriate salutations, structure, and cc when necessary. I also prioritize responding quickly and courteously to uphold professional standards. In terms of online safety, I completed the Staying Safe Online – Securing Your Online Identity task, which taught me the significance of utilizing security software, creating robust and unique passwords, and being cautious about how and where I share personal information when registering for accounts. I have gained a greater awareness of data protection practices and the importance of safeguarding my online identity. Additionally, I finished both the Networking and Communication chapters of the Pathways CareerSource. These resources enhanced my understanding of effective communication, emphasizing clarity, active listening, and audience awareness. Such skills are particularly beneficial for my future career in physiotherapy, where establishing trust and comprehension with patients is essential. Whether it’s about communicating professionally online, working in healthcare environments, or maintaining academic integrity, these digital literacy and communication competencies are fundamental to my success at university and beyond.

I have completed several tasks from the Kindness Curriculum, focusing on empathy, compassion, intercultural competence, communication, and humility. These lessons have aided me in recognizing the significance of understanding different perspectives, treating others with kindness and patience, and maintaining an open mind in both academic and social settings. Practicing empathy and compassion has enhanced my ability to collaborate effectively in diverse university teams and is vital for future job environments, where recognizing others' emotions and challenges promotes better teamwork and respect. Additionally, I took the Career Focus self-assessment quiz, achieving Level 2, and I am actively working on gaining more work experience and honing my communication skills to advance to the next level. Moreover, I have developed a compelling elevator pitch that succinctly communicates my strengths, interests, and career objectives, which I can leverage to create a positive impression on prospective employers. These cumulative experiences have made me more career-oriented and equipped for real-world professional settings.

Communication Skill:
My ability to communicate has grown as I engaged in class discussions, collaborative tasks, and presentations. I honed both my verbal and non-verbal communication skills, learning to articulate my thoughts clearly while also being attentive to others. I came to understand the significance of tone, body language, and timing, which enabled me to express my ideas more effectively and with respect.

Visit to Falmer Campus: Another significant experience in my career and academic preparation was my visit to the University of Brighton’s Falmer campus. This visit provided me with a deeper understanding of university life and allowed me to explore various campus facilities, including spacious lecture halls, extensive libraries filled with resources, and student support centers that offer academic and mental health assistance. During my time on campus, I had the opportunity to engage in discussions with current students and faculty members. They offered invaluable insights regarding lecture formats, the varied learning methods used, and what is expected at the university level. Experiencing the lively atmosphere of the campus firsthand made the idea of advancing to university seem much more attainable and realistic. This experience not only reinforced my dedication to my existing academic objectives but also ignited my motivation by showcasing the range of opportunities that await me in higher education.

At the start of the course, chemistry was certainly my most difficult subject, especially in the detailed areas of chemical reactions and the complicated calculations associated with physical chemistry. Initially, I found it hard to understand the rationale behind reaction mechanisms, often feeling overwhelmed by the abstract ideas. Correctly applying formulas to numerical problems seemed intimidating, which caused frustration when I struggled with problems that appeared simple to others. Nevertheless, my desire to better myself fueled my persistence. With the continuous support and encouragement from my teacher, I discovered useful strategies for breaking down complex subjects into more manageable segments. We held one-on-one sessions that allowed me to ask questions openly, while additional revision sessions after school provided me with extra practice. Through guided exercises, I began to recognize patterns and connections within chemical processes, enabling me to develop systematic methods for numerical calculations. This gradual comprehension not only enhanced my grades considerably but also sparked a newfound confidence and enthusiasm for the subject.

Statistics:

Statistics quickly became my strongest subject, mainly because of its logical framework and the straightforward method of problem-solving it presented. I found the key calculations, like mean, median, and mode, to be intuitive and enjoyed the challenge of manipulating data sets. Crafting and interpreting various kinds of graphs, including bar charts and histograms, became effortless for me. I especially enjoyed probability theory, as it offered a fascinating perspective on understanding outcomes and trends in real-life situations, such as gaming and sports statistics. My skill in statistics positioned me as the person my peers turned to when they faced difficulties, which gave me a sense of responsibility. Explaining concepts and assisting others not only reinforced my understanding but also boosted my confidence in my analytical skills.

Biology :

Throughout the entire course, I felt particularly at ease and assured in biology. Motivated by a lasting interest in the human body, I was fully engaged while learning about its complex systems, including the respiratory, circulatory, and nervous systems. Although biology required significant memorization of various processes and terms, I found that using visual aids, like detailed diagrams and flowcharts, greatly improved my retention of information. To strengthen my knowledge, I employed effective study strategies, including mind maps to connect ideas and active recall to regularly test my understanding. The well-organized content and numerous real-life implications, such as grasping health and disease, made biology feel not only relevant but also a great deal of fun.

Extended Project (FC300):

The Extended Project Qualification was among the most beneficial learning experiences I had throughout my course. As an assignment-focused module, it offered me a unique chance to investigate a topic of my choice in depth, allowing me to develop a wide range of academic and transferable skills. I enhanced my ability to perform independent research using various resources, such as scholarly books and credible online databases. Evaluating the reliability of sources became an essential aspect of my work, ensuring that my findings were trustworthy. My reading techniques improved significantly, as I learned strategies like skimming for main ideas and scanning for relevant details, which allowed me to locate crucial information efficiently. I used the Cornell note-taking method, which helped me to organize my research clearly, synthesizing information in a way that made review easy. Writing my final report not only refined my academic writing style but also taught me how to build coherent arguments supported by evidence. Presenting my project to peers and teachers further enhanced my public speaking and presentation skills, as I learned to engage my audience while conveying complex information clearly. This module not only sharpened my academic capabilities but also imparted vital lessons about time management, thorough planning, and self-motivation.
