"Feel It Still" by Portugal. The Man, is a song from the psychedelic pop, funk genre. Most teens don't really listen to this kind of genre, but this song changes all of that. It was a very catchy song that is still played all over the radio. Socially and culturally, I believe that these genres usually have more emotional, meaningful songs than the pop genre does. Although this song sounds like a very upbeat, happy song, the lyrics actually tell a story about the issues that are going on in this world and even past issues. Some examples of artist in these genres include Earth, Wind, and Fire, Marvin Gaye, and the Beatles. I actually have come to enjoy and appreciate this genre and music more, not just because of the cool sounding music, but because of the meaning behind the lyrics of the song.
