This is a nonfiction piece where I compared topics from the article "The Power of Names" and the vignette "My name". In this slide, I discussed how names can have hidden meanings behind them and more importantly talked about how women and treated as less in the society. I proved my point by using text evidence from both the article and the vignette.

Salt to the Sea(The Wilhelm Gustloff)

To create my informative about the Wilhelm Gustloff, I used the book Salt to the Sea. The book is about 4 different people, all boarding the Wilhelm Gustloff with different problems, and some sinking on the ship while others make it. I thought the ship in this book was a very interesting and moving topic, because most people have heard about the Titanic and not this ship. My essay informs readers about the people that boarded this ship, what life was like on the ship, and how the ship suck. This connects very well to the book because the whole essay is about the main event in Salt to the Sea. In this informative piece, I am most proud of my hook, because I think the story I added really captures the readers attention and related to the story.

In this essay, I argued to keep the computer science elective because of how beneficial the class is to students and the future. Not only do computer science electives teach students how to be accountable for their work and have good teamwork skills, computer science actually has academic benefits. Some people might argue that the music elective builds confidence in students. However, not only do computer science courses help coders work seperately, they can also work together as a team.
