My favourite place

My favourite building is in fact a bridge, Millau Viaduct in sothern France. It's an awe-inspiring structure, as much a work of art as it is a bridge. It towers over the valley that it crosses, but is so graceful that it seems to me more an integral part of the natural environment than the architectural and engineering achievement at all.
It was designed by a French engineer and a British architect who conceived it as a series of towers , which look like the masts of a ship, from which cables are suspended, the cables that support the road surface that runs 2500 meters across the valley. The highest tower is the tallest structure in France and I think the tallest bridge in the world.
This 21st-century masterpiece is breathtaking to behold, and it gives me a sense of calm every time I look at it. No one should miss it if they are visiting that part of France.

Prague Astronomical clock

My favorite landmark is Prague astronomical clock. In fact, I don’t have favorite places, destinations, or buildings, but this creation is absolutely striking and eye-catching. It’s located on the southern wall of old town hall in the old town square. The clock can display the time, date, position of celestial bodies, astronomical cycles and Christian holidays. Firstly, people in mid-centuries couldn’t get the idea why those mysterious clock appeared and defacing the city. In spite of complaining citizens, some legends had emerged and they went viral. But it was in 1410.

The clock mechanism has three main components: the astronomical dial, representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky. Also on clock’s surface settled 7 deadly sins. To speak the truth it’s really frightfully. Each one has own mystery. Due the fact that it’s huge it makes you feel unprotected and small. It reminds you about all world’s conspiracy theories.

I can definitely said that it’s a real masterpiece. If they made me impressed than you should go and see it live.
- Ariadna

My favorite place is beach Golden Sands because I can hear sound of waves, I can seat there and suntan or just go swimming. I go to the beach with my family or friends and we always have a picnic. Then we play volleyball or go swimming.

Often I go to the beach in summer to get away from all my troubles that are bothering me. You know, when wind is blowing right in your face you feel yourself kind of free, I like that feeling. Concern is gone. My favorite part begins when the sun goes down and first stars appear in the sky. I admire the sunset and starts while the waves are noisy in the background. I think it’s a great pastime.

Also near this street is located the old town. The old town is picturesque and walkable place.
It is ecpecially marvelous in winter as it is literally all light up. And in warmer times there are often arrange various festivals. The street follow along its ancient ring routes and contains a rich collection of museums, galleries, bars, cafes,food-courts.
If you haven't been there yet, I hope you will visit Old Town in Minsk one day and witness the charm of the magnificent street.

Norway is the place in which I fell in love.Norway is a country of lakes, forests and tundra. The most favorite cities are Oslo and Bergen.I think that Norway is a place where people can feel easy and be alone with their thoughts. Here you can see a lot of new and unusual things and phenomena.Your attention will certainly attract bays, which are located between the huge rock's.If you are an extremely active and curious person, you can participate in a hike in the mountains, fishing, climbing, scuba diving and take kayaking lessons from excellent professionals. If you go to Norway,be sure to visit the famous Atlantic road, which runs along the Atlantic Ocean! It offers great views of the ocean, and one of the 12 bridges in good weather, you can see seals and whales! It is a fascinating sight.Unfortunately,I couldn't visit Norway with my friend for some reason, but in the photo my friend who went there and with whom we talked every day.Although I only saw Norway from my phone,I still got great emotions from her views. But,I think that in the future I will visit there more than once.

Berlin Wall

My favorite landmark is Berlin Wall. The Berlin Wall was a guarded concrete barrier that physically and ideologically divided Berlin from 1961 to 1989. Due the fact that this building has suffered so much adversity and upheaval , you can feel all the despair of the people who lived in that difficult time. Nowadays Berlin Wall become a place where people can express themselves. This wall is the largest object of street art in the world. I was amazed by that outstanding construction. Here you can find stunning and audacious pictures. The vast majority of residents laud this piece of art, but some of them find it provocative and hideous. I was in Berlin on holidays and the cardinal part of my trip was to find the way to Berlin Wall. I spent two hours on it and I didn't regret! I was stuck by the diversity of paintings. I praise these people with lot of stamina. They gave us the opportunity to admire these non-standard artworks. I enjoyed those not cheesy illustrations and I can't even imagine that some people find them dull and talentless. In conclusion , I'd like to say that I would be glad to visit this eye-catching place again.

The National Academic Grand Opera and Ballet Theatre

I don't have my favourite building or a monument but i will write about one of the most graceful building in the city of Minsk — The National Academic Grand Opera and Ballet Theatre.
This theatre is the biggest one in Belarus. It was designed by Joseph Langbard and was built in 1938. The building embodies soviet pre-war constructivism. During World War II theatre was defaced by bomb and was used by nazi soldiers as a horse stable. Furniture, music instruments and other equipment was taken away. In 1948 theatre was fixed and in 2006 reconstruction and modernization began. The building is decorated by big statues and surrounded by park. There is also a waterworks next to the main entrance. Of course a lot of shows take place here, you can check it out. Or maybe you can just sit on the bench near it and just enjoy the beautiful weather of Minsk.
So, The National Academic Grand Opera and Ballet Theatre is a great place to drop by if you are fan of class. It makes our city a better place.
