The first thing I mention is eating customs. Vietnamese people use chopsticks when eating. Moreover, they rarely drink alcohol and water during the meals.

Secondly, the things you want to talk to your clients are also very important. For examples, you can share your experience and troubles in business. Furthermore, you may talk about your family, daily activities and hobbies.

-         Eating custom: 

+ Use chopsticks and bowls to eat

+ Don’t place the chopsticks on the bowl

+ Don’t talk while eating

+ wait for all guests to sit down before eating

+ Pass the dishes with both hands

-         Business communication

+ Use formal languages

+ Don’t use short answer “Yes/No”

+ Cover your mouth when sneezing, coughing or picking your teeth toothpick

+ Pay for the bill if you are the inviter.

Glad to receive your email. Just excited when you meet some clients (Câu này nghĩa hơi ko phù hợp ạ. Thường mn sẽ nói là rất vui vì bạn sẽ tới nước mình ạ "Glad to hear you're going out to Japan"). Anyway, my advice:

- Don't leave food on your plate. In Japan, it's is important to finish the items on your plate in order to let the host know you enjoyed the meal.

- Get the right tone. Sales conversations are is mostly about being polite, direct, and using simple language.

- Don’t ask about their family. The clients dislike it when they hear about it in work. Just be careful in talking!

Glad to know you‘re flying over next week to meet some clients in Viet Nam (nên đổi câu khác ko nên ghi y chang trong email họ ạ e.g. You're going out to Vietnam). Remember not to put your foot in this business. In each country, there are different customs that show a distinct national identity. Anyway, my advice: 

About eating rules: Use chopsticks when eating and it shouldn’t be placed on the bowls. Next, wait for the oldest people to sit and be served first. And leave some food on the plate and eat all your rice are considered polite. The inviter will usually pay for the or share the food bill when eating out. Finally, tipping is also acceptable.

As for social conversation, when starting a meeting or a conversation, a warm shake hand handshake and a friendly smile are important in my country. Don’t comment directly on their appearance, age… and avoid talking about private information their personal life. In addition, Vietnamese people exchange business cards after greeting.
