I prefer using coursebook materials in my sessions because, as I experienced, student get confused you are doing something which is not in the book. However, having finished the topic, I would try using it because it is difficult to find something authentic when students are not familiar with it. Also you need to be very careful while selecting authentic material because it would include some inappropriate contexts, expressions. Today’s activities are very helpful for me as my class size is low I can use them. Especially getting to know activity is good because the aim is not to introduce yourself people want to get to know about you. That’s a good point. I am planning to use it in starting months, I will select new students and they will know each other better. Today’s another session was effective. As I don’t value coursebooks too much, adopting and modifying activities are important for me. While doing this we can divide it stronger and weaker. These are terms I have heard for the first time in ELT. I was having trouble with listening skills but today giving the key words activity will help me a lot. One thing Rebecca said today “I do not want to force students to speak even though they don’t speak, process continues”. It changed my mind about listening and speaking activities.

The most important problem is that students do not have a reason to talk English. Every time when I want to do an activity, they answered me like “I do not need English”. Learning vocabulary and grammar rules are more crucial for them as they are preparing for both school and central exams.

Sessions today were very helpful. I really like the idea of personalisation which could be a solution of my problem above because they feel need to do something. The method diverse roles was the good one because in my class there are some weaker and stronger students. During activity, if I give them correct roles, the weaker students will be more active. There are a lot of methods today we talked but the most important thing is to combine them together I mean if you create context but there is no personalization it would be difficult. Also I see today for my lessons, expecting from students to speak in a short time is not realistic. Teacher should scaffold and give feedback. I was very polite when I tell students their errors however; now today I learned I don’t have to tell I can imply it by my gestures.

I find it useful because language teaching is closely related to exposure of the target language. In the classroom, we expose students to English of course but they do not practice it outside of the school. So, it enables students to prepare the upcoming lessons. My problem will be the responsibility because my students consider school waste of time. For stronger students it will be perfect but weaker ones, to motivate them will be problematic. Pre teaching key words is one of the most important techniques because students demotivated when they do not know many words. So, it is important, but the way is also important. I heard something today about explanation, it is advised today we should not use it because there are many good ways to teach it such as games, matching, visualising etc. Also, these would be more effective. Getting to students into activity is the most important one because if you can’t attract their attention, it would be ineffective. Skimming and scanning is also technique we can use because in reading you don’t have to know every word you just need to get general idea or something you are asked to. In classroom I always ask students what you think let’s brainstorm before starting reading. Which I should not do is to ask too general questions because they get confused. Today I see there are a lot of ways to teach English and I noticed today that if there is a will there is a way.

Categorizing the ideas will be useful because today our teacher said write about your favourite animal. It is too general, and he divide it into categories such as lifespan where they live. After that it was easy to write something. Brainstorming, outline will be very useful in my lessons as I observed today because my students need assistance. I also learned something I should not do “we are going to do etc” it is unnecessary. Today I also learned I have never and two stars and wish techniques which are very useful. About error correction we should not every correct error unless communication fails. Because motivation will decrease.

They will be interested in feedback. Because we always look for the best but today rather than criticism feedback is to show a way to correct errors. Writing symbols and ask them to check it out is a good one because we don’t tell them the error, we ask them to find it out and correct it. Not so many teachers are doing it. Also, techniques creating a reason is a good one because just telling them write your opinions is not a good idea because they get confused what to do. To overcome it they can use snack activities which provides freedom for learners in writing. Visualizing is also important so we can use mystorybook, pixton, and storybird to make lessons enjoyable.

Giving the clear explanation of the word is the most important. Because if you give it simple the students will get it however if you make things complicated it will be difficult. Sometimes rather than explain you can act it out you can use visuals, realias, roleplays. Also, these encourage students to use it. It is also important to use them in a context to make the words meaningful.

They are important because my students love taking notes and ı always have a need to use vocabulary notebooks. I would ask to write the meaning of words in English as much as possible because if they do not know the words it will mean nothing. Secondly, they should write the word type adjective, noun, verb as they need to produce sentences. Pronunciation is also important they should take notes about it too. There are so many words in the coursebook so I can not ask them to write all the info such as register, collocation etc.

We really get the same all teachers and dont think about the new ways to teach English. Everyone uses the same way the outcome is really poor in my local area. The best benefit I think they will explore new methods through interaction and sharing. Many teacher use coursebook but they do not like it, differentiation and digitalisation in PDC will help them to carry out the effective lessons. I noticed that rather than explaining just showing is good, this is also a good point.

I will get new ideas from them about how things work and hear their experiences, know problem what they did right or wrong and imply them to my own PDC. Also when planning, I can ask them for feedback to improve my own PDC. If ı have a problem, ı may try to ask them for helping or create new idea or materials for PDC’S. We can share our reports and expectations with to make them effective. For the session planning we can talk about it and exchange ideas.

We got the outline of sessions yesterday and matched them it with the activities. So it is clear what do we do through session stages. But to make this stages we need objectives topic. After that we can see what we need to do. Also observing teachers, such as when someone uses their phone when our friend is talking, our teacher’ reaction is a good example of overcoming problems. So observing teachers is important too. In our sessions, we also prepare a lot of classroom materials and shared it with each other so it can be helpful through planning.
