Goldstein’s ideas make sense, and I can agree with them in the context of the novel. I believe they’re only applicable, for the most part, to Winston’s society. Of course, the ideas about the three social classes throughout time and the idolized figure created specifically for worship do mirror today’s society, but we should be glad most of it is fiction. And I think we can thank the novel for that - the majority will realize an Orwellian society coming to pass way before it does, and hopefully stop it.
