This naval battle took place in the Southwest coast of Spain against commander Horatio Nelson. Napoleon's plan was to split the French navy in order to capture opposing ships. Furthermore, Napoleon lost this battle and resulted in him to eliminate plans of invading Britain and gave supremacy to the British navy for 100 years.

Next, Napoleon tried going against the Spanish guerrillas, small groups that ambushed French armies, but with Britain helping the Spanish, the French lost this war and weakend the French Empire

Waterloo, a village in Belgium, is where Napoleon attacked on June 18, 1815. Britain forces combined with Prussian armies exhausted the French troops. This caused for Napoleon and his armies to retreat after two days being cased out of the fields.

Invasion of Russia

When Russia and France broke off their alliance, Napoleon decided to invade Russia in June 1812. In this the Russian armies burned all their cattle and grain fields so the enemy wouldn't have anything to eat, this method being called scorched-earth policy. When the French armies tried to progress onto Moscow, The French ruler, Alexander, burned down his own city rather than surrendering it to the French armies. Then, Napoleon decided to leave the destroyed and on their retreat back to France is where the Russian armies led by Alexander the Great attacked the French troops. To continue, many French soldiers died by exhaustion, hunger, cold and battle wounds. In the end of the retreat home, only 10,000 soliders were left.

Banishment on Elba

On April 11, 1814 Napoleon is banished

to the island in the Mediterranean called

Elba. He was sent there because in 1812

he retreated against Russia and other

united countries, when he launched

an invasion against them. He stepped

in for his son but was rejected

and sent to Elba. In there he became

their emperor for a short period of

time then escaped to France.

Napoleon's Downfall & Death

His decisions of invading Russia tolled a change in the point in his reign. He took 500,000 men who many died because of shortage of food so had to retreat. Many countries joined in together to back France off to its original area but Napoleon declined. He returned to do many great things, but only ruled for 100 days because warfare broke out. He died of Stomach Cancer, but many people believed he was poisoned because of samples of his hair. He was entombed under the Dome of the Invalids in Paris.
