One misconception I had before was the difference between Permutation and Combination. I was confused when to use what when solving and would end up using the wrong formula. Then after consulting with a classmate, I learned about the important differences between the 2. Permutation is for when the order matters and you need to arrange in a specific way, and combination is for when the order does not matter and you just want to group them up.

Specific: My specific goals for this term is to get a final grade of at least A on my report card, pass all my quizzes and long tests this term, and submit all my homeworks on time and have no missing tasks.

Measurable: I will track my progress using the math progress report form given to us at the beginning of the term and the google classroom. The progress report form will help me calculate my grades and test scores, while the google classroom will help me monitor all my homeworks and tell me whether I missed something or not.

Achievable: I plan to accomplish these goals by studying diligently and paying attention in class. In class, I can take down notes so that I can further understand the lesson then study those notes in my free time.

Relevant: These goals are important to me because I have always had consistently good grades in all of my subjects throughout my time here in the AJHS and I wish to continue that. It will also look better for senior high school to have good grades especially since I am going ABM and math is often used there.

Time-bound: It will take me until the end of the term to reach these goals as that is when the final grades are given. As long as I stay focused on my studies and avoid getting distracted, I should be able to achieve these goals by the end of the term.

For me, the most difficult task I encountered was Long test #1 about FCP, Permutation, and Combination. This is because I was absent on some days and missed a bit of the discussion due to sickness so I was confused in some parts of the lesson, especially between the differences of permutations and combinations. Even though I still passed, I wished I could have studied more and gotten a better score. I will try to study more at home if I am ever absent so that I can practice doing the lesson and be able to understand it clearer.

For me, my best work is my notebook because it shows my effort and dedication when studying. I like to spend time in carefully constructing my notes during class in a way that I can understand the lesson the better. Taking notes helps me focus. It gives me an active way to pay attention in class. It’s not like just reading through a textbook or passively listening. It turns thoughts into something written down, making me think more deeply about the ideas being taught. Writing things out helps me understand them better because of how I turn them into my own words. This process is what helps me turn simple facts into real knowledge.

We usually have groupworks every session in math where we are given different problems and solve them with our seatmates on our notebooks. It results in a lot of group discussions where we first answer the problem ourselves, then compare answers after to see if we all got the same answer. Working in groups helped me develop important life skills that will help me beyond school. Skills like communication, leadership, how to compromise, and resolving conflicts are valuable both professionally and personally. Group works teach me to share ideas clearly, listen to others even when we don’t see eye to eye, and accept feedback with an open mind. These skills help me make friends, mend misunderstandings, and connect with others.
