EXPERIMENT; To find the pH of the pond water by titrating a suitable acid/base against the pond water.Firstly, we dipped a blue and red litmus paper into a small sample of pond water to check for its pH. The blue litmus paper turned red, so we concluded that the pond water is acidic. Then, the pipette was washed with deionizedwater, followed by pond water. We went on to wash the burette with NaOH, a suitable base. After the pipette was used to transfer pond water in to the beaker, we added in a suitable indicator, Bromothymol Blue. We started titration until there was a change in colour. The amount of NaOH used was noted down in a table. The experiment was then repeated two more times.
