They have a scarcity of clean drinking water. They usually suffer from poverty and they mainly depend on agriculture which is not reliable especially when they have a risk of problems like soil erosion and deforestation because of their old ways of agriculture. Most rural areas also face a lot of gender inequality. The strategies that can be used to overcome these challenges are to establish hospitals so that the people in rural areas have easy access to healthcare facilities and incase of an emergency they can easily go to the hospital without having to go out of their rural area to a city, they should also establish schools, colleges and universities so that the people of those rural areas, especially children, can get educated which will later on benefit the rural areas as they can have doctors, engineers etc in the future, it will also educate them about gender equality. The government or some non governmental organisation should provide rural areas with clean drinking water or they can help in making wells and filtration plants so that the people of the rural areas can drink clean water and not be affected by any bacteria or virus because of dirty water. They can also use modern ways of agriculture so that they don't suffer from soil erosion or deforestation, they should also use machines for more efficiency.
