Being born without a mother or a father made my life difficult. Unwanted and unloved thoughts are something I have experienced. Before they both decided to end things, I can still clearly recall how joyful, ecstatic, and loved I was. Every time there is a meeting, family gathering, graduation, or even special event at school, my classmates all had their parents, but I had none, which is why I was tormented at times during my elementary years. I live with my grandparents and grew apart from my mother and father. They have probably had the biggest impact on me as I've grown up in terms of my animosity towards them. They affected me in a stress-related way because before I became somewhat independent and strong, I used to be afraid of what my future might hold. Depressed, sad, confused, and the fear of being abandoned are some aspects that they have imparted to me. But eventually, it made me realize that we're all human and that we've all made mistakes. It's difficult to forgive knowing that they've silently hurt you. The first is my relationship with myself. Over the years, I've noticed that life sometimes feels empty to me as I get older. However, everything I've gone through has made me realize that the only person I can truly depend on is myself. Whether I succeed or fail in life, I view it as an opportunity for me to grow and to keep fighting the battle I'm in. Having a broken family is difficult, but having my siblings is something for which I will always be grateful. We become stronger and closer when we have each other's support. Family defined me in a way that may have harmed me, but the struggles and challenges I've encountered with them are something that helps me mold myself. The love my family has bestowed upon me has helped me define who I am. Having an imperfect family doesn't direct me down a path where I will suffer, but it directs me down where I can experience love with the people who had their support for me. I have been through a lot in my friendship relationships, lost a lot of friends, but also gained a few, which let me realize that it's alright to have a small number of honest and sincere friends. Many people thought I would only be able to finish my senior year in high school, but I am now here, thriving, and moving forward. Losing someone I dedicated my life to, who is aware of all my secrets and sufferings, is the worst hardship I have ever experienced. Every single day of life has taught me a lesson that I can get through life even if it means losing someone. My family is one of the things that may have influenced my life. Life seems so void to me, especially, since both of my parents had their own families and we were bound by their mistakes. However, this molded me to become driven and reliant, in such a way that I can rise even with the absence of help from anyone because I know my success will depend on me, and more appreciative in life, valuing small things makes me happy. Moreover, it taught me to have a big heart, to love, and to care for others.
