WCPSS bus drivers will use hand signals to communicate with students, letting them know when its safe to board the school bus. The hand signals are a new state requirement. Students will learn about the new hand signals at school, then bus drivers will begin using them in December meeting the state requirements to implement by January 1. The hand signals are another step in keeping students safe and making sure that motorists stop when they see the stop arm and flashing lights of a school bus.
