"Good Food, Good Mood"

Explanation:
In our society, happiness is based on the quality and quantity of food devoured. In fact, the better you eat, the better you feel, and the more delighted you become. Furthermore, the fact that our motto is short and sweet makes it easy for the people to remember, causing it to be one of the most commonly used expressions. Lastly, our motto's poster is displayed everywhere; in the schools, on buses, in malls, on billboards, etc.

Gastronomy runs Gastronomia's economy.

Transformed food costs a lot of money: it encourages Gastronomians to cook and make dish themselves, learn and attend to extra cooking class.

It's the centre of everything, people don't care about electronics or sports really. It's good food before anything. Being a cooking chef, you have the highest paying job in society, going from 200 000$ to 600 000$ a year. (distribution of wealth, employment and jobs)

The second highest paying jobs may belong to farmers and food producers, but since they control the whole industry, they have a lot of advantages, such as paying a lot less money for their food. A lot of the money goes into food production, they ought to keep the cleanest and most sanitary environment to produce aliments because life revolves around food. (industry and business, employment and jobs)

Cooking shows are also a popular thing amongst the citizens. The money aspect is sort of similar to how sports are in 2017; supply and demand. The ticket prices to attend cooking shows are ridiculously high because of the popular chiefs who judge the contestants. (Industry and business)

Moreover, Gastronomia is a very high-tech society that combines both manual handwork and machines. Technology isn't replacing humans, but only helping them accomplish tasks that could bore them, such as wrapping aliments or get rid of out of norm products. For example, expired fruits. The machine will locate them because of the different texture and will separate them from the edible foods. (Science and technology)

1. Food is allowed anywhere at any given time (in classes, at work, in libraries, etc). If somebody wants to eat.
2. Even though eating is a fundamental right, stealing is illegal and you will be sent to jail. It's one of the highest crimes, just after the murder.
3. You must throw your garbage in the multiple garbage cans, which are at every corner and not on the ground. Any citizen caught throwing a rubbish anywhere else could be facing up to 3 weeks of unsalaried working in their normal job.
4. Every citizen must go to school until they finish high school, and must enter the employment market before the age of 25 years old.
5. Employment discrimination is completely prohibited, for everybody is equal. For example, a chef cook should be respected, as much as his employees.
6. Someone being late, or a service being delayed is completely tolerated, for nobody is considered perfect, and delay is just a natural and normal. It shall never be the source of a sanction.
7. People not working in the "cooking" area shall always be respected, for they are all specialized in community services, giving the people services in return for good food.
8. Everybody shall go eat at a restaurant 2 days per week, attending a different one every time. Going to the same restaurant more than 10 times a year is prohibited, for everyone shall contribute to the economic prosperity of at least 12 distinctive restaurants.
9. The right of voting for new representatives at the table or government projects is acquired when the individual gets his graduation from high school, which is commonly at the age of 19. There is no official retirement age, for every individual can judge whether or they are still profitable for the greater-being of the society.
10. Social discrimination is categorically forbidden. Different skin tones, sexual orientations or body aspects are all considered equal and beautiful. Nobody is better than anyone.

Every 4 years, a national cooking contest is held by the in charge government at that time. Anybody can enter but only 20 will be chosen to participate in the event. This contest in broadcast everywhere during is 5 days length. For the people, it's like their Olympic Games. Out of the 20, 6 will win and be elected representatives, taking the place of the 6 oldest representatives.

HOW IT WORKS

The 20 contestant will be evaluated on many levels by the population and by the government. First, the people will be voting on whom they think is the strongest leaders, the one who's always in control of his kitchen and The 3 contestants with the most votes will be elected. Then, the government will taste the contestants' food and elect the one with the most talent to be in charge of the whole food system or to be trained to one day be. Lastly, out of the 16 remaining contestants, the government chooses the 5 whom they think shown the most positivity, patience and care with the people around. They will get their last chance to be elected by making their favourite dish and explaining what makes it so great to them. The population will vote for their 2 favourites and the government will give notes to the best dishes. The 2 contestants with the most added points will then be elected.

In addition to giving a voice to the people, this contest is good for the economy, as every vote costs the people 1 dollar, a very low price for the people to pay for the elections. The population actually enjoys contributing, and nobody minds having to pay, it's just a natural thing to do.

-From 0 to 8 years old: Since school revolves mostly around cooking, the government of education of Gastronomia, judged that children shouldn't go to school until the age of 9. Kids below the age of 9 are more at risk when using the dangerous tools used most of the classes, thus they are not sent to school to prevent injuries. Parents are, however, encouraged to sign their children up for private preschool classes, but those are extremely expensive and are only accessible to the rich. However, since school is mandatory, primary school and high school are entirely subsidized by the government, so it is accessible to everyone.

-Elementary School (from 9 to 14 years old): Students go through 5 levels in term of "cooking". They go to school 5 hours a day, but only 4 days a week. There are 3 different classes in the cooking aspect which allows students to develop their basic cooking skills entirely. There are "the theoretical cooking class", "the practical cooking class" and "the artistic cooking class". Besides, they also learn the rudiment of math, English and science. An important test at the end of their fifth year will determine what their high school concentrations will be (one of the three different cooking classes). Of course, some of them don't have any interest or aptitudes in cooking, and so these, after knowing the very base of gastronomy, are offered a completely different program in order to study in medicine and in the police corps. They get to protect the society and prevent disorder, even though their service is not often required, living in a quiet peaceful society.

-High School (from 15 to 19 years old): The students study in the concentration they are assigned to (by the test). They go to school 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. The students of each concentration reach their level 12 in term of cooking when they graduate. About 60% of the graduates will work in the food industry. Those who stand out in each program ( the 40% who don't seem to belong in the food industry and that have not already been chosen to study in medecine or to become a police officer) are sent to university and to study different subjects,

University ( from 19 to 25 years old): The students have a maximum of 6 years to get a degree in their chosen major, so they can be on the employment market at the age of 25.

The different concentration:
Theoretical cooking: Those who concentrate on the theoretical aspect are most likely future farmers, agronomists, food industry engineers and others. Their studies are mostly concentrated on science and food production.

Practical cooking: Those who concentrate on the practical aspect are most likely Gastronomia's future chefs. Only the best students (about 5% of the students) are admitted to the program. Their studies focus on improving their cooking skills and developing their gastronomic horizon.

Artistic cooking : Those who concentrate in the artistic aspect are Gastronomia's future recipe and transformed produce inventors. Their studies are mostly on marketing, innovating and creating.

When it comes to applying new laws or updating them, it's the 12 elected that work together to make it happen. They do everything; the have the ideas, they concretize it, they write it down and they apply it to society. The need of new laws/ updating them always comes from the 5 elected with a precise department, as they see what's going great and what's going bad better than anybody else. They're the ones who have to find the solutions.

For the other decision making that might need to be made in case of war or any other crisis, the government will meet and discuss the problems. Once they've figured out how to solve the situation, the government will openly discuss the issue with the population and put a vote on their solution. If the majority votes pro , the government will go through with their idea. If it gets a majority on cons, the issue will be rediscused and a new alternative will be suggested, until one's voted pro in majority.
