         <title>The British School of Barcelona Visit</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I had a pleasure to visit BSB and  meet with the IB Coordinator Maria Kovac.<br><br>General comments: <br>- the school has reception office;<br>-they have a big screen where they display events calendar;<br>-they have teachers' room<br><br>Meeting with the DPC:<br>-Skills students need to possess in he DP: English proficiency, critical thinking <br>- they have two weeks pre-dp prep<br>-camping - Koginity-<br>- webinars available for free<br>- Kognity books (and e-books) are good<br>- ManageBac with Turnitin<br>-DP Year I 1st semester - just the programme intro<br>- Online form before meeting with parents and students<br>- IB Evening<br>- Uniform and BridgeU<br>-Downlimit 5, Drama 3<br>- 1st semester of Year 2- present EE<br>- Have a contract with parents that they are aware that ss should make a lot of independent efforts, and that there are only five hours with supervisors<br>- All students who got high levels in IGSE go to DP, others to A level or redo IGSE last year<br>- English is needed<br>- CAS -2 periods a week (Duke Award Adimbra)<br>-IB DP Media Library<br>- lap top of ss, firewall,<br>-every s has outlook365 account<br>using Onenote forms  for CAS, TOK,Humanities<br>-Good for differentiation<br>-TOK pre-course- critical thinking<br>-microsoft forms - formative assessment<br>-Abini to - langage for beginners<br>-New teachers teach SL<br>-Joint CAS project<br>-Possible visiting pre-ib course in BCN<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The sample calendar will be posted on g-drive<br>Past papers are available for purchase<br>We need to have consent form for uploading materials<br>Material submission may be given to sb trusted, but might be better to have it centralised<br>Predicted grades internal vs university <br>Have a session till midnight to submit the work on time<br>TOK - sb should take responsibility for TOK essays<br>6 options essay topics for TOK - 1600 words<br>CAS coordinator <br>EE coordinator<br>Counsellor (university, career, psychological) - can help with statements, need to be English A, UCAS, and rest of the world<br>Form Tutor -1 h per week, DPC needs take over the training, should be sb who teaches students<br>PD - curriculum change, experience, requirements, budget<br>2-3-4 year contract for staff to secure the consistency of the programme<br>SS pay for late registration<br>Until September can do re-marks<br>New DPC notes are available<br>Group 4 protect - mandatory <br><strong>Re-take- choose best - boundaries<br>Re-mark -choose last</strong><br>1-2 points - worth re-marking<br>re-take - if His points not enough<br>Exam papers are uploaded<br>Shopping time -two weeks<br>4 HL and drop one later<br>If to re-take EE or TOK -new essays<br>other roles of DPC:<br>dealing with parents/guardians - emails that will respond later<br>pastoral care - <br>Progress measuring - differential analysis - overall subject performance -predicted  and exam marks<br>1-1 mentors for underachieving <br>meeting with parents -other options<br>CAT testing - might not be right<br>Library - may have agreement with the university<br>To offer alternative programme, with similar programme at the start<br><strong>Don't have to offer Group 6 subject </strong><br>TOK library <br>E-library - online resources - OCS, InThinking, Kognity, subscriptions<br>magazines,  <br>Can't copying the textbooks<br>Math Hason not recommended book<br>Extended essay books Group 3<br>TOK books<br>Policies<br>AH - need to use Turnitin in the MYP</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Official letter to language provision committee - requesting the addition of Kazakh<br>or teach first as local subject<br><br>In terms of course offerings, as you know this can change slightly every two years and is listed in the Assessment Procedures document (<a href="https://resources.ibo.org/dp/ap/dp-2018/works/DP_AP_2018?root=1.7.4.16.21">https://resources.ibo.org/dp/ap/dp-2018/works/DP_AP_2018?root=1.7.4.16.21</a>).&nbsp; For Language A Literature, for example Kazakh is not listed, however might be able to be a “special request.”&nbsp;<br><br>Unfortunately there is no such special request service available for Language A: Language and Literature, nor any for language acquisition courses (B / ab initio).<br>__________________<br>for verification visit -the data is triangulated, the fact that we have 5<br>the resources enough for 5 years or 1-2 years of authorization - resources for the 1st 1-2 years (to support EE)<br>Apart from AH and Admission others can be draft<br>Library and labs- need to be in place of the time of the consultancy&nbsp;<br>Preparation room and assistants are good if you have them<br>In Library - you need to show the you support EE<br>Library in charge - manage collection, attends curriculum planning, sufficient resources (she is more than just collection manager)<br>Sb should take care of AH- often it is a library<br>Course outlines - to show that read the guide<br>verification - need to show that we are to start teaching<br>Min requirement 1 Admin Cat1<br>Documentation - course outlines, policies, calendar, org chart (in the guide)<br>No requirement for unit planners<br>New standards and practices for evaluation (start from 2020)<br>Leadership -&nbsp;<br>time for collaboration -&nbsp;<br>Open access - clear admission policy,&nbsp; very exclusive will not affect<br>Concurrecy of learning - the subjects can be taught in two years<br>TOK in two years, 1 year -anticipated (not recommended) - SL, not self-taught<br>meeting with students - what is your best language - should be the same info<br>Appriopately placed at the challenging course<br>Cannot choose one language in A and B<br>Math changes -&nbsp;<br>Either group 1, or group 1 and 2<br>Bilingual diplomas - some subjects&nbsp;<br>J-Store<br>History = geography<br>Science&nbsp; and math<br>Chemistry - Physics<br>Psychology - most in Pamoja<br>Examiners - encourage teachers<br>1 year contract - difficult for IB DP<br>Secondary school environment - provide training<br>General training&nbsp;<br> Library - to support languages<br>good databases<br>by the authorisation training must be done<br>training before start teaching (guarantee)<br>resources for the 1st 1-2 years (to support EE)</div>]]></description>
