I just finished reading Little Boy Lost by J.D. Trafford and have started to read Brain on Fire-My Month of Madness by Susannah Cahalan. On my queue I have Educated a  memoir by Tara Westover, Beneath the Scarlet Sky by Mark Sullivan, The Plastic Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg, and Spilled Milk by K.L Randis.

Books that I recommend are The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom, the Legend trilogy by Marie Lu (some of our students read these), Alias Grace and The Handsmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, The Girl With All The Gifts by M.R. Carey, The Passage trilogy by Justin Cronin, and Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper. (to name a few)

I am about half-way through this delightful story. It is based on the life of a gorilla who lived on display in a mall. It makes me smile and tugs at my heartstrings. Tissues have been necessary. Justyce is a brilliant young person who is highly successful at his private school and a debate team leader. He is an African American teenager, who begins a “Dear Martin” project in response to being wrongfully handcuffed and detained. Grow with Justyce, as you take a step into his life and how he responds to his life’s circumstances.
