         <title>Post 1- The Mediterranean World in 33CE </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Roman Empire was the major power of the Mediterranean world for 507 years until their downfall and therefore ruled most countries and towns during this period. To establish this the military had to complete many conquests, which was possible through their success in many wars. The main Languages used in this area of the world at the time were Greek, Latin, Hebrew and Aramaic. However Latin, being the original language of the Romans, was used in imperial administration, legislation, and the military throughout the period. While the other languages were more informal and spoken regionally. Peoples and goods were transported either by sea because of the low price and fast pace or by road on giant wheels holding carts of things which was a slower yet, a less risky mode of transportation. Some cultural and ethnic groups of the time were; the Romans, Christians, Hebrews, Jews, Galileans and Corinthians. Each of these groups believed in a religion such as; Christianity, Judaism and other polytheistic faiths. Some of the main cities within this area at the time include; Rome, Carthage, Macedonia and more.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Post 2-The significance of the conversion of Saul of Tarsus</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Saul’s conversion was one of the most astonishing recollection’s in the bible and has much significance because of his previous actions. Saul was raised as a very rightful Jew who grew up persecuting Christianity by arresting and harming Christ’s followers. In the Acts 21: 37-22:21 the story of Saul’s Conversion is retold and we hear what and how he was called to follow Christ. It is said that on approaching the city of Damascus he suddenly fell to the ground as he was surrounded by a blinding, white light. He then recalled Jesus’s voice quietly telling him to stop persecuting and to go to the city where he will find Ananias, a man who will cure his blindness and baptise him. Upon his conversion many people thought that he may be trying to gain their trust in order to persecute them. Over time though, Saul was able to prove himself  as a true and loyal follower of Christ. Therefore the conversion of Saul to Paul is still of much significance in Christianity today.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Post 4 - Explain the purpose of Paul&#39;s letters and identify the main messages in his preaching </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>St Paul wrote numerous letters throughout his life for many different purposes, all of which were of great significance throughout the bible. Paul wrote these letters to distant churches and their main purpose was to tell churches not to lose faith or hope in god, but to live a joyful life as god will always be with them. These letters were also written in order to allow Paul to inform the churches on what was happening to him as well as to respond to these experiences and events. Along with telling the churches not to lose faith, Paul includes many other profound messages in these letters the main messages being “He has given up his life so we can all live” and “Never let go of these 3 things; Faith, Hope and Love. And know that the greatest of these will always be God’s love”.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Post 5- Identify and explain a cultural challenge for Paul that is revealed in one or more of his epistles </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the bible the Galatians state that a cultural challenge in St Paul’s time was Paul’s disagreement of the strong Jewish tradition of circumcision. This meant that for a boy who was born into a Jewish family, he was to be circumcised before he would be permitted to become a true follower of the Jewish faith. Paul was in denial of this tradition so as a result when he started to preach the Christian faith he began telling the community members about what becoming a Christian would require. He told them that by them joining the Christian faith that there would be no need for their beloved children to be circumcised but only for them to be baptised. This news pressured many people to think about their children’s future and well-being with or without the tradition of circumcision. Therefore, this became a cultural challenge for St Paul at the time since he had to convince people of the Christian belief around circumcision as revealed in one of his epistles.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Post 3-Outline the extent of Paul’s 3rd missionary Journey.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>St Paul’s 3<sup>rd</sup> journey was one of the many great lengths he went to in order to preach the word of the lord. All cities he visited had experienced great transformation as retold in the bible in Acts 18:23- 21:17. Paul began his 3<sup>rd</sup> missionary by passing through the interior of Turkey until eventually arriving at the city of Ephesus where he preached Christianity for quite some time. From here he travelled to Canakkale and then to Macedonia later returning to Canakkale by sea. Here, he spent some much needed time preaching the gospel and preforming many miracles which god had permitted to be done through him. Paul then went on foot from Canakkale to Behramkale where he boarded the ship to Milet, here he met the elders of Ephesus and decided to say goodbye to them all since he knew he was coming close to dying. He spoke to these believers about not losing their faith after his demise, of not wavering from spreading the message of Christ and tearfully bidding his farwells. After this Paul travelled from the city of Istanköy and Rhodes to Gelemiş (Patara) where he changed ship and went to Finike. From there he was to begin another ship journey to Syria followed by a passage to Jerusalem where he was arrested. This marked the end of St Paul’s 3<sup>rd</sup> Journey however not the end of all of his missionaries.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Post 6: Interpret &amp; apply one of Paul&#39;s Messages for us today </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Philippians 4:11-13, Paul gives a message of gratefulness and appreciation which is important and appropriate for us all today. Paul says "I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in  every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all things through him who gives me strength." What Paul is saying in this epistle is that we must all aspire to live a life like his, where we can be content and happy with what we have. I believe this message is applicable for us all today as we currently live in a very materialistic world. By this I mean that we always want and expect more than we already have and are never content with what we have, even if we are not in need of more. To resolve this issue, we all need to let go of unimportant material things and focus on following our god and having faith in him.</div><div> </div>]]></description>
