Then long-wavelength radiation is re-emitted by the earthsurface. Green house gases capture 70%-85% long-wavelength radiation in atmosphere so these energy is re-emitted toward the surface.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Greenhouse gases are gas species that are present in trace amounts in the atmosphere. Typical greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane and nitrogen oxides, whereas CO2 and H2O are the more principal ones.&nbsp;<br><br>Greenhouse gases will let solar short wavemengthlength infrared pass through but will absorb terrestrial long wavelength infrared radiation.&nbsp;<br><br>When sunlight containing short-wavelength IR strikes the terrain, some of the IR radiation will reflect back but with an energy loss deneted in the increased wavelength. Greenhouse gases in the lower atmosphere of troposphere will absorb this long-wavelength radiation, turning it into heat energy and thus prevent the Earth surface from emitting radiation back to space, simultaneously conserving the heat energy from solar radiations.&nbsp;<br><br>Global warming is caused by excessive amounts of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Typically water evaporation (H2O), fossil fuel conbustion (CO2), agriculture &amp; vehicle exhaust (NOx) and polar ice meltages (CH4) contribute to this increase in atmospheric greenhouse content, which amplifies the heat-keeping effects. </div>]]></description>
