The protagonist Billy Halleck changes throughout the first 6 chapters. In the first chapter Billy is a cocky man and is not scared of anything. In the chapters to come thought he starts to worry more and gets panicky. Instead of his confident demeanor he now is more jumpy and irritable. Besides his mental state he also changes physically. In the first chapter Halleck is a 249 pound man but in the following chapters he is dropping weight incredibly fast. I would keep the title of the book because it fits the story perfectly. In the story a man on the Heavier side hits a gypsy women and doesn’t get chartered for man slaughter. This leads to a Gypsy man to curse him to make him grow thinner everyday. A big surprise for me is that Billy Halleck didn’t get any repercussion for hitting the Gypsy lady. You would think he would have to do something but no he doesn’t. Instead he gets of easy and doesn’t lose a single point on his driver’s license. A certain passage I looked In the book was when Halleck was describing the Gypsy children. They way he described it was that the children were beautiful yet ugly. Mysterious and dangerous yet alluring. He described the Gypsy people as someone might describe a lion. I was feeling very distressed after reading Halleck’s inner monologue. I am nervous that he might actually have cancer and that would explain his vivid hallucinations. I belive that when the astroid hits the moon it will cause the end of the world instead of a small indent. Advice I would give Halleck would be to apologize to the Gypsy man. At this point Halleck is in a dire situation. When the astroid hits the moon, the moon starts to become bigger and tilted. Meaning the moon was getting closer causing everyone to panic. Discuss the conflict in the story. How will it be resolved?

An astroid has just hit the moon causing the moon to move closer to earth. This causes mad tidal waves to happen all over the world. Most of the city’s and land near the ocean has either been submerged or washed away. I don’t believe there is any current way to fix this problem. In the story the main family and many other family’s raid grocery stores and other stores because they believe the world is ending. This relates to present day because when people first went in lockdown From the pandemic People raided stores. The raiding has died down recently but there are still people who are stock piling. There are even regulations now on how much of one product you can buy.

Miranda changes her option on school quite a lot. Before the moon incident she hated school. She didn’t like going to school or doing her home work. Though now that she can’t have a normal school year she misses school greatly.

The people in the book may also panic more and have no means of communication because there may not be phones created yet. In the beginning, I did not expect that the students would return to school. If anything, I expected the government to evacuate everyone and to set up rations for the now impending doom caused by the moon that is now closer to earth. In addition, gas is becoming scarce and it takes gas to take your kids to school unless kids walk for hours to get there. I thought due to this crisis, they should’ve been better prepared for the unknown. Later, schools and shops do close and food runs out as I predicted.
