─ INFANCY

Growing up, I was a chubby, emotionally sensitive baby with attachment issues, often crying when separated from my parents, unlike my twin sister. Despite being dependent on others, I showed early curiosity and social awareness, like searching for my dad during a fiesta in Cebu to share my plate of lechon. By 11 months old, I had already spoken my first clear word, “Daddy,” reflecting my early cognitive development and ability to express emotion.

─ EARLY CHILDHOOD

As a toddler with big, round, curious eyes, I became more independent and began exploring my surroundings, though I was still shy around relatives. By age three, I could already read, write, and count, thanks to my mom’s guidance and the educational shows we watched together. Personally, I loved watching Barney and Little Einsteins because they made learning fun and nurtured my early curiosity and playful nature.

─ PRESCHOOL AGE

During preschool, I became more aware that I was taller than my peers, which made me socially confident as I made friends who expressed their admiration for my height and explored new activities in kindergarten. A memorable moment I could recall in this stage was receiving the Leadership Award at graduation, even though I hadn’t expected it. This experience sparked a sense of purpose and showed me how my efforts could make my family proud, highlighting my early emotional awareness and growing cognitive abilities.

─ SCHOOL AGE

My parents encouraged my sister and I to explore different hobbies, so we eagerly joined activities like dancing, poetry recitals, choir, violin orchestra, science fairs, and quiz bees. As an energetic and active child, I enjoyed performing and participating in games, which kept me physically engaged and healthy. These experiences helped me grow socially confident, intellectually curious, and emotionally expressive, shaping much of who I was during my school years.

─ ADOLESCENCE

Now that I am 17 and in senior high school, I’ve noticed changes in myself, both positive and negative. While I’ve become more introverted and timid compared to my younger, more open self, I remain deeply family-oriented, physically active, and continue exploring personal interests and friendships. With the support of my parents and twin, I am gradually growing toward self-empowerment and strengthening my self-concept.
