The Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 works to provide every student with an equal opportunity to receive a good education. It funded both primary and secondary education for reasons such as professional development, instructional materials, resources, and parental involvement. It was reauthorized in 1994 and became the Improving America's School Act. In 2002 it was reauthorized and got its name changed to the No Child Left Behind Act which put an emphasis on providing equal support for children regardless of race, income, or other internal and external factors as well as emphasized achievement in testing. It was again reauthorized in 2015 by President Obama and became The Every Student Succeeds Act. This act honed in on students' needs, ensured that they were taught at a high academic standard, and provided different educational interventions for the students.
