         <title>John Jacob Astor</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>John Jacob Astor was a German-American businessman. He was born on July 17, 1848 in Walldorf, Germany.  When John reached the age 14, he worked as an assistant to his father, he did that for 2 years. Astor met a German man who told him how much money he would make from fur trading. He worked for several furriers and began buying furs on his own. Jacob opened his own fur trade shop in 1786. A few years later, he made his first real estate investment. After the war of 1812, he became even richer than before from a bond deal with the U.S. government. He died in 1848.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Charles Crocker was an American businessman and banker. He was born on September 16, 1822 in Troy, New York. Crocker was forced to quit school at an early age to help support his family. He did various jobs such as farming, working in&nbsp; a sawmill, and serving as an apprentice in a blacksmith shop and foundry. He and his brothers migrated to California in 1850 after gold was discovered. Crocker opened a store in Sacramento, becoming extremely wealthy by 1854. In November 1860 Crocker attended a meeting with Theodore D. Judah in Sacramento which led to the founding of the Central Pacific Railroad. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Henry Clay Frick was an American industrialist, financier, union-buster, and art patron. He was born on December 19, 1849 in West Overton, Pennsylvania. Clay Frick was the grandson of a wealthy miller and distiller. Even though he had a little education, he still had a lot of potential in him. Frick began building and operating coke ovens in 1870, and the following year he organized Frick and Company. He died on December 2, 1919. <br><br></div>]]></description>

Carnegie started working in the railroad industry, after a while of working in the railroad industry, Carnegie began making investments. He made many wise choices and found that his investments, especially those in oil, brought in substantial returns. He left the railroad in 1865 to focus on his other business interests, including the Keystone Bridge Company. most of Carnegie's time was dedicated to the steel industry. His business, which became known as the Carnegie Steel Company. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>John Warne Gates, also known as "Bet-a-Million" Gates, was an American Gilded Age industrialist. He received his education in a local public school and managed to acquire higher education in Napierville Academy. In the Academy he learned business law, giving him a background about the field. John made his money by making Barbwire and he was a constant gambler. In a 1900 horse race in England, Gates won $600,000 on a $70,000 bet, which rumors raised to over $1 million and got his nickname "Bet-A-Million".</div>]]></description>
